The ice cream is to die for. I had pistachio and salted caramel. Unfortunately, the cake was a battlefield after two forks (see picture).

There were 4 of us and we ordered 3 very good zingare, a toast, 2 Cokes, a beer, a bottle of water, and a doughnut. The bill was 67.50, sitting at the table. The waiter was very kind and welcoming. It was Boxing Day, so winter, and considering the time, we were lucky. It was our stop before reaching the Castle. Recommended!

I stopped twice for breakfast. Excellent cappuccino. The Epomeo experience is a must-try, a dessert from the local pastry shop dedicated to the mountain of the same name on the island of Ischia: a crispy puff pastry cone with custard and strawberries, enclosing the surprise of a mini rum baba with black cherry 😋 superb!

Ristorante Pizzeria da Umberto

06/01/2026: I was there a few days ago. The menu is extensive and varied with reasonable prices. We had the Margherita pizza, and I have to say, it was really good.
03/01/2026: Three generations of goodness and authenticity! At Umberto's, you can breathe in the history of Ischia. It's rare to find a place that has maintained such high standards for three generations, overcoming every challenge with the power of goodness. The cuisine is a journey through the flavors of the sea and land, using excellent ingredients. The pizza is unmissable, carefully prepared in front of the wood-burning fireplace, just like in times past. Beyond the delicious food and fair prices, what stands out is the warmth of the expert staff. Getting there is easy thanks to the large nearby parking lot. If you're looking for a place that captures the soul of the island, you must try it at least once. Lastly, as I'm a fan of traditional places, it's no coincidence that it's among the top 10% of establishments on TripAdvisor. Highly recommended!
