Fantastic food, quick and friendly service and cute restaurant

I am Italian, I have family in Rome but had not come in many years. I was disappointed to see that the majority of restaurants, even the historical ones, adapted their food to the floods of mediocre tourists that come here, especially Americans expecting to find the same steroids inflated meet and GMO vegetables they find at home or the greasy salty and sauce and cheese filled pizza they make. The only poor reviews are from these people. This is Italy: the country of authentic ingredients and cooking mastery. Gli specialisti maintains that and it’s finally the first authentic restaurant I found in days going around Rome. L’amatriciana was the best I ate in years: tomato sauce cooked to perfection, guanciale crispy and super yummy, the fiori di zucca were super tasty. Someone talked about them being greasy and made in old oil, I don’t know what they are talking about, they were great. My partner ordered state of the art ravioli and great polpette. Finally the service was in the Roman style: caciarone at the right point and super friendly and hospitable. I’d definitely come back and I’d recommend it to anyone who’s really interested in tasting authentic Roman cuisine and opening their mind to the real Italian local culture. 100 e lode grazie

Amazing experience! Fantastic service, recommending dishes, translating the Roman plates into Italian for my partner (who is Italian), and everything to English for me. Very attentive service. Best meal we had in Rome, a traditional Amatriciana. And delicious Polpette (meatballs). Definitely recommend. Three courses and 0.5L of wine for 88€. Defiiitrly recommend!

A relaxed, typically Roman restaurant with great service in a wonderful ambiance. We had a wonderful evening there. Highly recommended.👍

A GUARANTEE! After trying almost the entire menu I decided to write this review. Appetizers with excellent quality raw materials, super Roman first courses (rigatoni alla coda and amatriciana are my favorites) and second courses that are always tasty (I recommend the saltimbocca and the abbacchio). Not to forget the desserts that are homemade by the mother. The service was always impeccable both when we went alone and in a group. The environment is genuine and the love of the family management still shines through. A fixed point in Trastevere, highly recommended also for the beautiful outdoor terrace.

We’ve been here twice - the first time was last year and then again this year. We remember it being good which is why we came back. When we arrived, we were greeted after standing for a few minutes, but then the servers kind of just forgot about us, so it took a long time for us to get seated even though there were tables available. We also noticed orders taking extremely long to come out for some people who were seated way before us, which was unfortunate. As for the food, the amatriciana was very flavourful and the carbonara was pretty decent. However, I wish they used fresh pasta instead. The ravioli was not good at all. I would not recommend ordering it. Overall, it was pretty good.

¡Qué lugar! Una comida tan romántica aquí en San Valentín : ) La carbonara es morir por , soberbia salsa y queso pecorino pasta recién cocida y no demasiado (que muchos lugares proporcionan erróneamente ). Encantadores acompañamientos con aceitunas frescas y panes todo siguiendo con el tiramisú más cremoso! Gran selección de vinos encantó particularmente el Donnaluce 2023 Lazio blanco ... ¡Haz una cita con un ser querido y disfruta de este súper restaurante!
