Giudecca 10 at Belmond Hotel Cipriani In Venezia

I would say it is a 7 * hotel. The attention to detail is astonishing- drinks on arrival,fresh flowers, fruit, little cushion matt on the floor to step on by your bed… Celebrated special occasion with our family. The staff is very professional and helpful, concierge organised all our activities on requests, which we really enjoyed. Everything about this place is great-rooms, views, gardens, wellness, pool, location, food, restaurants, the cloud like pillows, toiletries … Thank you very much for looking after us so well and making it really special and memorable occasion for us. A little note for the customers: all restaurants in the hotel have a dress up code which we were not aware of. Only travelling light, no long trousers, just linen formal shorts, which are not allowed. It’s far too hot for us English to wear long trousers in 40*C :). Perhaps the Cipriani should consider the formal dress code only in the Michelin star restaurant.

Beautiful property with lovely rooms but unfortunately the food and service no longer live up to the high standards they once set. Service was efficient but lacked the warmth and grace of true five star properties. And even worse, the food ranges poor to mediocre. It's hard to find bad food anywhere in Italy, so this was particularly shocking. Sad to see a legendary hotel like the Cip rest on its laurels and lower its standards so badly. The experience was noticeably degraded from what it was just a few years ago. Very disappointed with Belmond's management. They seem to have embraced maximizing profit by downgrading quality. A dangerous game for a brand that built its reputation on being the best of the best.
