Girotondo di Pizza In Matera

Meh... A nice pizzeria overall, mind you, but they handle takeout a bit poorly. I ordered a pizza off the menu and asked for it sliced. When it arrived, some ingredients were missing and it wasn't sliced. The dough was a bit heavy, and it was definitely worse when cold (and therefore takeout).

Excellent pizza, friendly and clean atmosphere... super friendly staff... Arianna in particular welcomes you and accompanies you through dinner with her beautiful smile and boundless kindness....

The place is very nice and the service is friendly. Unfortunately, the food leaves much to be desired. The fries on the pizzas were cold and soggy; they didn't taste like fries. The dough was rubbery, and overall, the pizzas were unpleasant.

Excellent pizza, including gluten-free, with exceptional customer service! We were here recently and had a truly excellent experience. The pizza is excellent, and when ordering, you can choose between three different dough consistencies—a detail that's not always obvious and much appreciated. They pay great attention to gluten-free options, with a wide selection and evident care in the preparation, which truly makes customers feel safe and valued. There was only a very small discrepancy in the delivery time between the gluten-free and gluten-free pizzas, but the staff noticed it immediately and responded impeccably: they remade the classic pizza and delivered it to us along with the gluten-free one. A gesture of great professionalism and customer service that, honestly, I'd never seen in any pizzeria. Highly recommended, not only for the quality of the pizzas, but above all for the care, kindness, and respect shown towards their customers. We'll be back!

This place truly gave us a great experience, and a pleasant memory of our weekend in Matera! We tried the pizzas and appetizers, which turned out to be exceptionally delicious! I would highly recommend it to anyone who happens to be in the area! Definitely worth a try! The staff was friendly and efficient, even accommodating us by finding us a table on a Saturday night without a reservation, when the place was packed!

Well the gluten free pizza was good but the waiting for bill was neverending. There were 4 waiters but mine dissapered and I could not pay to any other. I eaited for an hour! So unpleasant.

A regular stop in Matera, Girotondo has been my favorite pizzeria for years. It's a welcoming place, friendly staff, a wide menu, and guaranteed quality. When you order, they ask if you prefer a soft or crispy crust, so they can satisfy everyone's needs. Coming back is ALWAYS a pleasure. Thank you! 😍
