Found by chance and intrigued by the name, being a cyclist, we decided to stop for a quick break before heading off again. I have to say, the pizza is truly excellent. The dough, in my case a whole-grain one, was truly excellent: light, fragrant, and the ingredients were truly excellent. The same goes for the baked panzerotto my friend ordered, which was really rich in toppings and nice and large. The service was lively and light, which is exactly what you need in that context. Well done everyone. We'll definitely see you again when I return to Sammichele.

The pizza at this pizzeria until not long ago was a spectacle, lately the pizza is no longer what it used to be and the prices have risen, now I understand the increases etc. but I would like to eat the first (quality) pizza, not the one I ate recently which was raw and rubbery.

Very good pizzeria with a wood-fired oven, where the locals go to eat. We visited it on a Saturday night, two people. We sat outside, got a zampina di Sammichele (local twisted, thin sausage, baked in a clay oven with red sauce), a margherita pizza, a capricciosa pizza (with tomato, chicken prosciutto, tiny onions, artichoke, olives) a beer and a coke and we paid €24. Very tasty flavors, especially the wood-fired pizzas, with thin dough. Only downside, the wait for quite a while (more than usual), due to the many customers there.

Pucciaria (Santo Spirito)

11/09/2025: Good people, good service, good product, and they know how to handle it. From the simple Margherita to the delicious octopus sandwich and the entire extensive menu, you always get something tasty and well-made. It's truly worth it.
05/09/2025: The staff is very friendly and attentive to their guests' needs; the restaurant is very quaint, with outdoor seating where you can dine overlooking the sea. As for the food, just one word: spectacular and masterfully prepared!

Trattoria Federico II

21/10/2025: Maybe I ate at this trattoria on the wrong day! Many people recommended this trattoria to me, including my hotel staff! Upon arrival, I felt like I was in a barracks, given the number of people in uniform sitting at the tables. Not a bad thing, in fact, I felt a bit at home, given that I was also in the military for almost 40 years! The service was slow, there were few staff, and there were many customers. But since I wasn't in a hurry, it wasn't a bad thing, but the wait between dishes was quite long. Appetizer: orecchiette with turnips, and a mixed roast to share with my wife! Typical dishes for a Puglian trattoria, perhaps prepared hastily; the orecchiette were adequate, but the mixed roast was overcooked! The staff, however, were kind and attentive, and the price was a bit higher than the local average.
29/09/2025: And if you don't have gourmet pretensions, it's fine. Characteristic and spartan... the beautiful places of yesteryear.
