Gio's In Venezia

A nice spot for a special meal. We came to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and enjoyed our meal very much. The food was well presented and tasted delicious, and the staff were friendly and were knowledgeable about the wines and menu. Nice surroundings overlooking the Grand Canal. Two small observations - the wine list has some lovely choices on it, but the mark up (especially on non-Italian wines) was rather excessive. We treated ourselves to the sommelier’s recommendation of Italian rose, which was very nice but I’m not sure it was worth 100+euros. Also we weren’t hotel residents and would like to have left a decent tip for the staff - unfortunately this wasn’t possible on card, and not having much cash on us we felt like we weren’t rewarding the staff as we’d have liked to. Overall I would come back, but with more cash for a tip, and probably would avoid the wine by the bottle.

Beautiful restaurant, if you need a last minute reservation go for lunch. Ordered the tuna tartare, grilled octopus and stuffed pepper, everything was great but the stuffed pepper is actually out of this world! Could’ve ate 10 of them!

Unforgettable Venetian experience

Enjoyed a memorable milestone birthday at Gio's a few weeks ago with the best table in the house. I must say, i felt quite special. Thank you. Remarkable and faultless service by Sany (one of the best) and our sommelier for the night, Annalisa. Well presented, tasty and exquisite dishes by head chef Giuseppe Ricci. Thank you for making my night exceptional.

My family and I paid a visit to the bar area of Gio's at the St Regis after an afternoon of shopping at the LV store nearby. We had visited Gio's for lunch last year and were keen to revisit. As is the case with all St. Regis properties globally, this particular hotel has a signature Bloody Mary called the Santa Maria - it is quite different from a typical Bloody Mary (it was made with a “clear tomato” instead of tomato juice). The drink was served in a lovely Murano glass that is shaped like the Santa Maria church (hence the name). While I was not particularly fond of the drink, it is their signature drink so I had to try it! Drinks were served with traditional Venetian “S” cookies as well as biscotti and some small nibbles (chips and olives). The service at the St Regis is always great and I highly recommend that you pay a visit if you are walking around the San Marco area. Do have a look at the beautiful Murano chandelier in the sitting area on your way out!

Great place for cocktails and snacks prior to dinner. Beautiful outside space on the grande canal. If you've looking to have a snack and drinks in a beautiful place you really can't go wrong here.

The patio is probably the best spot to have food and or drinks in Venice. Amazing food and the drinks are top notch. The seagulls are a but crazy but don't worry they have a falcon on staff for that lol.

Probably the prettiest view in Venice paired with excellent food! Obviously pricey as you’d expect it. Only the Pepsi for 10€ through us off. Still excellent and recommended if you enjoy great food and appreciate the service.

Very beautiful place with one of the most beautiful views of Venice, the service, contrary to what I saw some people say here, I was very well attended to and everything was incredibly delicious

The location of Gios is fantastic. A table on the terrace with a view of the Grand Canal and Santa Maria della Salute on a warm summer evening is simply beautiful and romantic. Sitting there, you can feel the gentle breeze and hear the soft waves of the water against the canal walls. The lights of the city reflecting on the water create a magical atmosphere. Food was very tasty, and service was good, but not very attentive. We also had a mistake in our bill, which was rectifyed upon notification.
