Gio's In Venezia

We went to Gio’s Restaurant and Terrace at The St. Regis Venice for a wedding brunch, and it was absolutely gorgeous. The location alone is worth the visit, with incredible views over the Grand Canal and the stunning church across the water. It feels like one of those perfect Venetian moments where everything aligns: the view, the weather, the food, and the service. We were lucky enough to be there on a beautiful afternoon, and the light reflecting off the water made the entire experience feel almost cinematic. The staff were attentive and professional, offering a nice selection of food and crafting some excellent cocktails. Everything was beautifully presented and timed just right. It was the perfect way to spend our last day in Venice. Even if you’re not staying at the St. Regis, I’d recommend stopping by for a drink or a meal simply to take in that spectacular view. It’s a spot that captures the magic of Venice in every sense.

We stayed a few nights at the St. Regis in Venice and this was their hotel restaurant… They serve an incredible dinner here! They also serve their amazing breakfast buffet here as well. The buffet is beautifully put together and laid out nicely, so it’s spread out and people can utilize it while not being on top of each other. Their offerings include cereals, the typical breakfast proteins, many breads and sweeter baked goods, full salad options, lots of juices, and other sides dishes. While staying there we also ordered breakfast mains from their menu which were all very good! Their pancakes were outstanding! Their avocado toast type breakfast was incredible, I ordered it twice! Service was always incredible, just like it is for the property overall! Venue is amazing with seating right along the Grand Canal. Highly recommend stopping in, but if coming for dinner, you must make reservations!

A beautiful restaurant with a wonderful terrace. I think the prices are a bit high; I've never paid €52 for a scallop. You need to order at least two dishes, which will cost you €100 for the entire meal, or you can get the tasting set for €120. They gave me a birthday present with dessert and a candle, which was nice. The food was generally tasty, but not exactly 5-star quality. The atmosphere was pleasant. We arrived at 7:00 PM and were able to get a good table; there weren't many people there; everyone arrived around 8:00 PM. There's a bar next to the restaurant with a beautiful view, too. I think if you want to enjoy the view and take photos, you might want to choose the bar to avoid overpaying for the food. Carpeto is €12 per person.

Expensive as you’d expect, but fantastic service and good food. Solid list of cocktails, which were also really good. You also get a pretty unique view on the grand canal and the whole area of the terrace is beautiful. Would go back again for the view and quality of service.

What a lovely place with a romantic view. Staff were all extremely friendly and with a great sense of humor. We had an aperitif at the bar area while enjoying the view of Santa Maria della Salute. For dinner we moved to the main restaurant and had their tasting menu and a great bottle of white wine recommended by their sommelier. The tasting menu was €180 per person and our bottle of wine was €150. It’s a lovely place to dine when you’re in Venice.

The view from here is amazing, but that’s the only point of visiting this place. The food is average, but the tiramisu was really good. In terms of quality of the food the beef carpaccio was way too salted for example. Service is trash, you have to wait up to 15 minutes to catch a waiter to make your order.

Dining at Geo’s was nothing short of extraordinary. We tried the dinner tasting menu with the wine pairing, and it was one of the best culinary experiences we’ve ever had. Each course was beautifully balanced, showcasing creativity and attention to detail, while the wine pairings elevated every bite to a whole new level. The flavors were thoughtful and memorable, with each dish complementing the next in a seamless progression. You can truly taste the passion and craftsmanship that goes into the menu. A special thank you to our server, Marco, who did a wonderful job guiding us through the experience. We did the tasting menu because it’s the option that made the most sense (they force you to order two appetizers per person and there’s a €20 charge to share food ordered a la carte) Food had interesting textured but the flavors were off. The lobster paccheri was extremely salty and made me nauseous. They made a sign for my birthday, but the food was overpriced and not worth the money.

To my astonishment, this restaurant exceeded all expectations. We arrived by water taxi at 9 pm, coinciding with the sunset. The culinary experience was truly remarkable, with an exceptional score of 10 out of 10. Our servers, Maria and Dejan, were exceptionally skilled and knowledgeable. They provided insightful recommendations on both cuisine and wine, creating an intimate and enjoyable dining atmosphere. If you ever find yourself in Venice, I highly recommend visiting this establishment. It offers an unparalleled opportunity to immerse yourself in the city’s gastronomic offerings.
