Exactly what you would look for in a traditional Italian restaurant. He met Gigi too who was very servicial and super lovely.
The food was superb and the service was excellent. Highly recommend!

If you want to eat very local and good Italian food, this is really recommended! Gigi is a nice and hospitable man and the other staff is also very friendly and helpful. We had a great meal here. Especially the local specialties are recommended. You can also sit both inside and outside very comfortably and atmospherically

Every year I spend ten days in Lucca and I always go to Gigi's for one evening. Like the day before yesterday. Gigi brings the real Luccan cuisine to your plate, don't expect any frills. But nowhere is the price-quality ratio so good. The pasta, the tagliata di manzo, the glass of vermentino..., you can order that almost everywhere in Lucca, but at Gigi's everything is of very high quality and still affordable. Outside on the cozy terrace every table was reserved, so for the first time we ate inside and it is really cozy to sit there. And Gigi completes the picture! Grazie Gigi, see you next time.

Really delicious pasta, strongly recommend both dishes we had - the rigatoni and the gnocchi. Staff were friendly and accommodating of our one year old. Nice and relaxed vibes, in a quieter spot just around the corner from some busier streets.

So glad we found Gigi! Lots of tourist traps in Lucca and this is not one of them. Hugh quality food with a classic menu and thoughtful service. Would definitely go back.
