I made a special trip to have this meal at Gente di Mare. I wasn't disappointed. You need to remember to bring your phone(s), as the menus require you to use QR codes that are on the table. I started with the CARPACCIO DI SALMONE -- which was fine.
What really rocked my world, however was their PASTA FRESCA ALLO SCOGLIO, which was a plate of fresh pasta with shrimp, mussels, clams, and cuttlefish. The sauce was light but incredibly full of flavors. The fresh noodles were cooked perfectly. I can't normally finish a restaurant sized portion of pasta, but I couldn't resist going for every last bite.
I would describe the service as serious, efficient, and professional.
I would definitely come back.

Welcoming place, competent and knowledgeable staff.
The octopus salad was very good. I regret not taking a photo of the grilled fish we ordered. Four small pieces of grilled fish, fresh but overcooked (inedible when cold) and thrown on the plate. Not very presentable in my opinion.
I think the price (€70, two grilled dishes and an octopus salad) is a bit high for the food we got. What a shame.

I went for lunch on a Saturday in late August. I'd heard good things about it and wanted to try it. I must have been there on the wrong day, but I didn't find the food great. So I assume that if everyone raves about it but it has its down days, the restaurant isn't operating as it should in terms of reliability. It needs a certain standard; you can't just navigate by sight. The place is nice and well-kept, but it's on a very busy road. The service is good.

Posizionata sul lungomare di Taranto abbiamo trovato posto senza prenotare. Ottimo gli antipasti di crudo e il pesce alla brace. Ottima la qualità della materia prima prezzo assolutamente non esoso per quanto consumato. Cordialità nel servizio forse un po’ lentino, considerando il numero dei coperti.
