It's a cute seafood restaurant facing the sea. The staff were very kind and brought out the day's recommended fish for us to choose. They didn't seem to be very good at English, but the menu was a QR code that you could scan with your smartphone, so we were able to order without any problems using the translation function! All the food was delicious!

We stopped at this little restaurant on our way back to Calabria. Located in the heart of Taranto Vecchia, it's very welcoming. Impeccable and fast service, very kind waiters, and fresh fish cooked to perfection. Everything was truly delicious. We had a wonderful time: I recommend it without hesitation.

I made a special trip to have this meal at Gente di Mare. I wasn't disappointed. You need to remember to bring your phone(s), as the menus require you to use QR codes that are on the table. I started with the CARPACCIO DI SALMONE -- which was fine. What really rocked my world, however was their PASTA FRESCA ALLO SCOGLIO, which was a plate of fresh pasta with shrimp, mussels, clams, and cuttlefish. The sauce was light but incredibly full of flavors. The fresh noodles were cooked perfectly. I can't normally finish a restaurant sized portion of pasta, but I couldn't resist going for every last bite. I would describe the service as serious, efficient, and professional. I would definitely come back.

19/11/2025: Nice place for truck drivers. There is a large parking lot, and tonight parking is free. The only thing is that you can't get a parking receipt so you have to give it to the owner like you would from a parking lot. The workers are very friendly and the food is delicious. Next time I'm in this part of Italy I'll come again
