Gelindo dei Magredi In Vivaro

By mutual agreement among former colleagues, we decide to have lunch at the Gelindo dei Magredi Restaurant, located near the village of Vivaro (Pordenone). The entire restaurant (which also has a riding stable and an outdoor swimming pool open in the summer) finds its worthy setting in the vast adjacent countryside, a protected area for its numerous botanical rarities and birdlife. A very valid structure from a logistical point of view with very large internal spaces from which rooms can be obtained for a more intimate and refined convivial gathering. Wide choice on the menu whose first course is the exquisite Maltagliati (Blecs in Friulian) served with herbs, potatoes with mature cheese and pitina (typical smoked salami from the Tramontina Valley - delicious!) .... what can I say .... absolutely worth a visit because to the sight and to the palate everything is even richer and more intense. The wines of the area - the famous Vini dei Magredi - accompany each course worthily!!! Highly recommended as very clean, tidy and truly articulated in the internal and external layout. Very friendly staff and attentive to individual needs!

This restaurant has several dining rooms, but be careful when booking because the menus and prices differ between Tinello and Corte dei Venti. The former offers traditional dishes presented in a gourmet style, carefully prepared but rather limited in quantity and with higher prices. The latter offers a more popular and informal menu with more affordable prices. It's unfortunate that the wait between courses in the Tinello dining room was excessively long. The atmosphere is welcoming.

I'm reviewing only the restaurant section. The varied menu features unique dishes, but they're always the same, which I consider a plus. The dishes are truly the result of extensive experience. The staff is friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is welcoming, albeit very spacious and adequately heated. A few reservations about some of the dishes (a matter of personal taste) and the above-average prices prevent me from giving it a fifth star.

It's difficult to define this business: restaurant, accommodation, party space, riding stables, outdoor pool, etc. It's easily accessible by heading towards Rivolto (PAN base). If you arrive by bus, they have a parking lot in front where you can get off and unload your bags. Upon entering, you'll immediately notice they also sell their own brand of food. The older rooms are in the main building: cramped, with a small bathroom and a comfortable bed even for single occupancy, but with old-fashioned furnishings. They also have other, nicer rooms in the back, flanked by greenery and the summer pool. It's worth considering, as if there are parties or birthdays near the park or pool, the loud music can disturb sleep. They have several dining rooms; the largest one, inside, is furnished in wood and feels like a salon, but when it's full of people or groups, it can get very chaotic. I prefer the smaller indoor room with the more elegant restaurant (obviously, it's a matter of taste). They also have two outdoor verandas for summer dining. The food is good, with decent portions and moderate prices. Service is provided by several uniformed waiters. We head to the back where I mentioned they have a swimming pool, but what's even more pleasant for nature and animal lovers is the riding area with several stalls and horses. They have several riding areas and a racetrack for horse shows. They offer camper van parking, as well as space for horse trailers for those arriving with their own. The green areas are also pleasant for festivals or events. Several maintenance staff provide maintenance, the green areas are well-kept, and overall, a pleasant place. Suitable for ceremonies, so always inquire beforehand if you're looking for a quiet spot or space to relax.

Today I ate at Gelindo dei Magredi, a restaurant I've known for a while, and once again I had a wonderful meal. The staff were friendly, helpful, and the waitress was very professional, attentive, and gave us great advice. I highly recommend it.

Warm welcome and excellent food

Lunch with my in-laws; it was our first time. Very friendly staff, delicious food, excellent value. The shop also has some great products. Coming from Florence, it's a bit out of the way, but if we're back in the area, it'll be a must-stop.

I didn't have the pleasure of staying there, but we had a wonderful Sunday enjoying delicious food and horses. Highly recommended!

We went for lunch during the week. The restaurant is well-kept, with authentic dishes and friendly staff, all at a reasonable price. Excellent choice for a quick business lunch or a family dinner.
