Choosing and combining ice cream flavors in the tub has become my new obsession. If you try it, you'll never go back, spaceman! And what about the prices? Nowadays you can't find a cone for two euros anywhere...here even free hand-whipped cream, and the ice cream is a mystical experience! It's worth all the waiting, and if I may say, if it's not on the weekend the waiting is more than normal! Great, good work and see you in the next tray!

One of the best ice creams I've ever tasted in the area. You can see that it is made with love, handcrafted and designed and created to be finished on the same day. The owner, a noteworthy character, friendly and convinced of what he does and how he does it. He is a first person from preparation to sale, and when the ice cream runs out, he closes his doors and leaves. This makes it clear how fresh the products are every day. From me the biggest compliments. The spectacular pistachio ice cream also had a note of merit from none other than the red prawn, but in general all the flavors it offers are good. A guarantee as far as I'm concerned.

Honestly, I don't understand the negative reviews. Or better. I understand them because no one likes queuing, but I don't understand them. I try but I can't. Here we produce and sell ice cream in a limited edition. Stop. At some point it ends. You have to deal with it. The opening hours are known. The closing one is not. It closes when the ice cream is sold out. If you want to be able to choose from all the flavors available and not have to queue too long, you have to go at the beginning of the week and a little before opening hours. Or when it rains/hails. Point. It seems surreal, but it's true. Bergamo is full of conventional ice cream parlors after all, right? You come here to have an experience. In a world where everyone is in a hurry, Vittorio reminds us that calm and patience are virtues to be rediscovered. And then you see him, without haste, before opening the door he goes to the bar to drink a coffee... or have a chat with a friend. You experience his neighborhood and he smiles at you with all the serenity in the world, proud that you are there queuing for his ice cream. Then he takes a scoop and gives a little ice cream to a little dog telling him 'Look here, there's all the woods inside!'. And if you insist on paying for the granita or cream he gives you, he looks at you with two disarming eyes and, smiling, tells you in his own way, 'Come on. Do not be vulgar!'. Because it wouldn't be, shall we say, 'elegant' for him not to reciprocate the fact that you chose him. Then you melt, thank him... and maybe he'll even give you a discount. Vittorio can only seem pedantic if you don't know him. Or you didn't understand it.

The best ice cream in Bergamo by far. You have to get there early to make sure you get the ice cream, but it's worth it.

Ice cream of the highest quality, an experience that I always recommend if you are passing through Bergamo. Vittorio is always super helpful and a true artist! It's worth the wait, which is definitely part of the experience

Osteria Al Gigianca

24/11/2024: We tried the longest tasting menu for the early lunch. We loved the pumpkin starter, mushroom risotto, ricotta mousse and orange wine underlined with amazing energy of lady waitress. (They really chose a right person) . We started eating on our own in the whole space but shortly it was a full house. Sometimes we had a feeling that the potential of some meals wasn’t really squeezed to 100% but the beautiful decor and vibes of this non really touristy place made our day unique. Next time we would go for dinner instead of lunch 😊
19/11/2024: We arrived here after a selection of a few places proposed by 5 friends, a kind of Restaurant League. Osteria al Gigianca won. And we were happy that he won. We arrived at 8pm after making a reservation which I would say was necessary given that after half an hour everything was full, an easy and precise system, with reminder emails and SMS. We decided to do the Identità tasting menu route. As wines we chose the Franciacorta Rosé Natura 2019 at the beginning and the Mazon pinot noir afterwards. All the dishes were delicious, personally I have a preference for the giant sheep tartare, the free-range chicken liver ravioli with spring onions and the veal sweetbreads. In honor of the saying: your mouth is never tired if it doesn't taste like cow, we took a look at the menu and tasted the cheeses, and here we had great appreciation for the historic rebel (bitto! But you can't tell). So sweet, magnificent, coffee and, for three of us, coffee killer: Formidable bitter, very fragrant, and Rhum La Perle, white, never tasted and really good (who knows if it was due to Gigi's suggestion, but you could really taste the truffle). All in 3 hours spent comfortably and with a final cost of €475, an absolutely fair price for quantity/quality/kind and always attentive service/comfortable place/not too far in the center and therefore easy to find parking nearby. To return! And highly recommended.
