Gelateria Baroncini In Firenze

We haven't tried their gelato but the pastry and coffee are amazing! They are very welcoming to the foreigners too. Definitely recommend!

A blast from the past with noteworthy flavours

Started as a dairy at Via Celso 3r in 1946 Gelateria Baroncini is among the most highly regarded Gelato shops in Florence, the company now in its fourth generation still adherent to the strictest standards of production while at the same time creating new recipes for modern times. Small in its floorplan, a register and some confections to the right of daily flavors, three scoops on a cone tally just €3 despite textures suggesting the use of high quality Ingredients including Pistacchio di Bronte and a lack of preservatives or artificial colors. Focused on classics, locally produced Cream and Milk building a smooth base, “Dolce” incorporates Cake plus a hint of Liqueur while Chestnut “Monte Bianco” tastes pure with a texture akin to fresh Whipping Cream.

I was staying within walking distance and was advised to go. I tried some really good ice cream, so much so that I went back several times during my stay in Florence. The staff is friendly and the place is clean, I recommend it!

If you are looking for amazing ice cream in Florence, this is the place!! This is a family-run (3rd generation!) ice cream shop which has a long history of excellence. Delicious, high-quality, ice cream, genuine flavours, and one of the things that I really, appreciate is, that the flavours are not overly sweet and the ice cream has a wonderful creamy but delicate texture!! Try the coffee semi-freddo, the flavour is very impressive. The shop is charming and the staff are really helpful. You can drop in for a coffee too or even to buy some fresh milk or cream. Highly recommended.

Certainly the best in the area, if I say Florence someone will be offended... but they certainly don't lack courtesy and humanity, as well as great passion towards people without distinction. And few ice cream parlors have survived as they once did

Excellent ice cream, unfriendly and a little cold staff

Ho conosciuto questa gelateria attraverso una mia amica che va lì da molti anni e giusto oggi per l’evenienza sono passato da lì per prendere la famosa Castagnata che mi fece assaggiare la mia amica e che mi rimase in mente per la sua particolarità poiché è un dolce che giù da me in Sicilia non c’è. Che dire! Uno spettacolo! Soprattutto quel leggero sentire affumicato dato dai marron glacé e la leggerezza della panna il tutto ricoperto da uno strato di cioccolato fondente sapientemente decorato a mano rappresentante la forma della castagna con il guscio. Excellent whipped cream with waffles

I had the opportunity to eat a new dessert, called 'la castagnata', very good with a pleasant chestnut flavour, very reminiscent of the famous Mont Blanc. It looks very good and has the shape of a large chestnut covered in chocolate.
