Gelateria Balan In Roma

10/04/2025: Really friendly atmosphere. Quick service. Lovely grilled squid and amazing Greek salad.

07/04/2025: We walked past Da Augustea a few times as our hotel was nearby, on our final night we decided to swing by for some Aperol spritz's as they have 4 euro spritz's during aperitivo! One of the managers quickly got us seated (there were only a couple outdoor tables left) and got us our drinks promptly. The gals sitting beside us got a couple pizzas which looked amazing, not greasy, and super thin! We ordered a margherita pizza and another round of spritz's. We were supposed to head to sushi dinner about a 40min walk away but loved the pizza so much we decided to stay for dinner! We asked to move a bit further into the patio near a heater and they quickly switched us once another table became available. We got a seafood risotto and a spicy salami pizza and a bottle of wine. All were absolutely delicious and the bill was one of our cheapest in Rome! We also noticed by about 8:30/9pm over half of the restaurant was Italian speaking which shows its also a local hot spot. I truly do not know why there are some negative reviews here. They definitely ask you if you want to get seated if you stop and look but I think this is pretty common in Rome. Definitely not a tourist trap! Highly recommend especially if you are craving a thin crust pizza!
