The Talbauer Inn is an ideal stop on the way from Auer Castle to the Hochmuth mountain station—perfectly located with breathtaking views of the Etschtal Valley. The food was excellent: freshly prepared, authentic, and a real hit in terms of flavor! Particularly noteworthy: the fluffy Kaiserschmarrn, the hearty dumplings, and the noodle soup, of which our son ate two portions. That alone speaks volumes! The terrace offers a wonderful view of the valley, the atmosphere is relaxed and informal, and the staff is friendly and attentive. Payment can be made conveniently by card or cash—very straightforward. An all-round harmonious experience in a magnificent location. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to combine enjoyment with panoramic views!

A beautifully situated farm with a fantastic view. Those climbing up from Tirolo on foot have their first opportunity to enjoy a cool drink or a meal here. From here, you can either head towards the cable car or continue up.

A truly worthwhile excursion! Starting with the Hochmuth lift, you'll enjoy spectacular views of Merano and the Etschtal Valley along the way. From the mountain station, a beautiful, approximately 25-minute hiking trail leads to the Talbauer – easy and well-signposted. Once you arrive at the Talbauer, you'll be greeted with warm hospitality and fantastic South Tyrolean cuisine. The dumplings are a particular highlight – fresh, homemade, and simply delicious. The service was also attentive, quick, and extremely friendly. After refreshments, you'll leisurely continue the approximately 3 km return journey to the valley station, accompanied by stunning panoramas. Conclusion: A perfect half-day excursion with guaranteed enjoyment – ​​nature, good food, and great people. Highly recommended!

18/08/2025: We visited the Pienzenau Restaurant in Merano on a balmy summer evening last week and were thrilled from the start. The stunning location, nestled between the vineyards and the old town of Merano, impressed us. The magnificent garden surrounding the property is a true gem and invites you to linger. Our seat on the terrace offered a wonderful view of the property and garden – a perfect setting for a special evening. The hostess and her team welcomed us warmly, immediately creating a familiar and homely atmosphere. Culinary delights left nothing to be desired: We enjoyed a fantastic three-course menu that will remain with us forever. The taste, quality, and presentation were of the highest standard. The team was also perfectly prepared for my gluten-free requests – without any prior notice. We would especially like to mention the young ladies in the waiting room – incredibly attentive, courteous, and always warm. All in all, it was an evening we will cherish for a long time to come. One thing's for sure: We'll be back! And next time, we'll take the opportunity to stay at the Hotel Pienzenau. See you soon! Carolin & Christian from Lüneburg Heath
