Top location, you simply have to stop and have a bite to eat before leaving the mountain. My cheese dumplings with coleslaw were a dream.

Went there for a morning hike where they served a breakfast buffet as part of the experience. The food was great, views beautiful, and service lovely. A fantastic place to visit.

Great inn. We stayed here twice: once on the way back along the Merano High Trail and once on the way to the Mutspitze. A very nice terrace with a stunning view of the mountains and the valley. You can even see the Dolomites. The cable car takes you comfortably up to the Hochmuth Inn, and then it's a somewhat steep 10-minute walk past the viewing platform. The food, coffee, and drinks were delicious, and we received friendly and quick service. 5 stars, which we highly recommend! Best regards from Elbflorenz.

A wonderful atmosphere, a beautiful place, fantastic views, a fantastic sunset, delicious food, pizza from a real oven, delicious and tender veal, everything fresh and delicious. The owners were very friendly and hospitable, wonderful people. You can easily park your camper. Thank you for the wonderful time, delicious food, wonderful atmosphere, and help. The tips on what to see in the area were invaluable. Thank you! We wholeheartedly recommend it.

Gasthof Gampenpass

05/10/2025: We first visited "Zum Hirschen" in the spring and were drawn back in the fall. Stunning natural surroundings, the food, we thought, was exceptionally good, beautiful, clean, modern rooms, relaxing in the sauna, and hospitality combined with sustainability...what more could you want? We'd love to come back.
22/06/2025: The service was great, and the 5-course breakfast was a nice surprise. We also liked the wellness area. We were lucky and were able to use two of the four spaces on the day of arrival, which meant we could use the sauna. The older room in the hotel, which we were assigned based on our special offer, was functional. Only the electrical appliances (hairdryer) should be checked for safety. 😅 Otherwise, everything was perfect! The place is quite remote on the mountain. Probably a perfect starting point for hikes. We were mostly in Merano and didn't explore the surrounding area.
