We came as hikers. The buttermilk is sensational, and you can even buy ham here. We would come back anytime. Quaint, friendly staff.

We've been coming here for many years. In addition to wonderful, hospitable restaurants, the food is excellent. The quality and taste are superb.
The beautiful rooms and the view—especially after the last train has left—offer pure relaxation. Early in the morning, after an excellent breakfast, a hike to the Spronser Lakes is a great option.
All in all, a wonderful inn with great people.

My husband hiked the Merano High Trail last week. The start was on September 11, 2025, and the finish was on September 18, 2025, at the Hochmuth mountain inn. He was fascinated by the view, the friendliness, the rooms, and simply everything. He'll definitely be back. Best regards to the host, Waldemar, from Düsseldorf.

We hiked the Merano High Trail in 7 stages and stayed here for one night.
The room offered a fantastic view, was clean, and functional.
Dinner was delicious, breakfast was decent, and there was WiFi too—albeit with spotty reception.
The service was friendly and good.
My only criticism is the rather poor price-performance ratio. The other 6 farms we stayed at were all significantly cheaper, but comparable in terms of service. I found our room too functional for the price (e.g., no TV) and dated. It was also very noisy.

Auf 1500m Höhe, nur mit der Seilbahn zu erreichen, ist der der Gasthof toll gelegen mit einer wunderschönen Aussicht auf Dorf Tirol, Meran und das gesamte Tal mit den umliegenden Bergen. Das Team der „ Hochmuth“ gibt jedem Gast das Gefühl, etwas Besonderes zu sein. Die Zimmer sind gemütlich und gut ausgestattet.

Das Berggasthaus war mehrfacher Endpunkt unserer Wandertouren. Uns ist die natürliche Freundlichkeit des Teams aufgefallen und natürlich auch die tolle Speisekarte. Und nicht unerwähnt darf der selbstgeräucherte Speck bleiben: Wunderbar, ein echter Genuss!
