Please, do yourself a service and do not overlook this restaurant. The best value in San Gimignano by far. Authentic local food cooked with genuine passion… And you can taste it. Service kind and proud of the menu they serve. Simply wonderful.

Highly highly recommend this place in San Gimignano! The tortellacci are out of this world and the tartare smoked with cherry wood is 🔥🔥 Kudos to the super kind hosts and amazing service! Don't miss it! Get the recommended glass of Chianti local wine 🍷

Cozy and very nice place, kind staff and really well-made cuisine. We tried slightly revisited traditional dishes, which were really good and also excellent value for money. I recommend it!

We stayed two evenings in a row in this Tuscan restaurant where we ate very well!!! Very kind staff! A special thanks to Eleonora who contributed to making us spend two wonderful evenings! All delicious but absolutely not to be missed: the Tuscan appetizer with very high quality cured meats, the pork belly which, once overcome a crunchy crust on the surface, literally melted in your mouth and the tortellacci stuffed with wild boar! Absolutely recommended restaurant!!!

We found it on Tripadvisor during our visit to San Gimignano, it is located 2 steps from Porta San Matteo, a very nice and welcoming place, very kind and helpful staff, a special mention for Barbara, she is the 🔝 she made us take a Florentine steak weighing 1,300 kg of incredible quality and goodness!!! The cold cuts and cheese platter was also excellent, we will definitely be back!

After trying many restaurants in Florence, we finally found a gem at Ristorante Fuoriluogo. The food here stands out from the rest. We ordered the prosciutto and cheese cutting board along with San Gimignano wine, and every bite was a delight. The cutting board was incredibly fresh—the lardo, in particular, was a standout, melting in the mouth like buttery soft salmon. While it may not look like much at first glance, the portion was surprisingly filling, and the price was very reasonable for the quality. To top it off, the staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive, making the experience even better. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for exceptional food in San Gimignano!

Fuimos a este restaurante en la parte posterior de sus comentarios positivos. El interior es agradable y tiene un ambiente agradable, el personal de frente de la casa es muy profesional y muy atento, por lo que las mejores calificaciones para el servicio. El menú fue un poco decepcionante y la oferta para los vegetarianos fue limitada. El pecorino frito con miel y champiñones porcini (menos la manteca de cerdo para el vegetariano) era lo suficientemente sabroso dado que solo era pan, queso frito, sin embargo el sarro de la carne era decididamente promedio. El plato principal de pasta de tomate era poco notable - una noche de semana en casa - cocinado la cena en lugar de la comida del restaurante. Teníamos grandes expectativas para este restaurante después de haber leído las críticas, pero desafortunadamente no nos dio resultados. Comimos mejor comida en restaurantes menos costosos y más rústicos en otros lugares de la ciudad.

Gran cena aquí - - es JUSTO fuera de las paredes, así que no es una locura y puede que encuentre un lugar de estacionamiento cerca. Comimos mucho y disfrutamos del FILETE DE JABALÍ que era difícil de encontrar en Italia. Se derrite en la boca tan tierno y diferente al filete habitual. Trip Advisor dice que solo estaban abiertos sábado y domingo, pero llamamos y están abiertos todos los días excepto el domingo, así que tome nota. Los platos de pasta y sopa de frijoles también eran excelentes y el servicio fue inmediato. Es un espacio grande para que tengas espacio y no encima de la mesa al lado. Arcos de ladrillo altos - decoración encantadora. Venid aquí chicos si podéis conseguir una reserva - - - - la mejor comida de la ciudad!

La Solita Zuppa

24/03/2025: We first discovered La Solita Zuppa in June 2019, during a stay at the nearby Poggio Piglia. Our initial visit was for lunch — and it was so wonderful that we ended up returning for dinner every evening of that stay except for one. Andrea, the owner, was warm and knowledgeable, entertaining us with stories about the evolution of Tuscan cuisine and offering thoughtful recommendations from the menu and anecdotes about the ingredients. The restaurant itself is charmingly decorated, with a beautiful vaulted brick ceiling and little green gingham details. Andrea's wife is the chef, and every dish — from the simple yet perfectly executed tomato and garlic pici, to the elegant gnudi with sage and the richly flavoured ginger ravioli — was cooked to absolute perfection. We discovered the influence of Italy's ancient connection with the Silk Road still alive today in many of the dishes. All through the pandemic and unable to travel, we promised ourselves we’d return one day. And in August 2024, we finally repeated the same trip, again staying at Poggio Piglia and once again dining at La Solita Zuppa each night. While there had been some small changes since covid, including the addition of a cute little terrace, we were delighted to find Andrea and his wife still running the restaurant, and many of the dishes we had dreamt about (and even tried to recreate at home) still on the menu. The entire experience was just as amazing as we had remembered, if not even better. The restaurant was definitely busier than it had been during our last trip, which was wonderful to see, and our only single disappointment was that Andrea was far too busy with all of our fellow diners to spend very much time at our table. On our last evening he recommended us the wine 'Vigna Flavia' from a small vineyard in Chiusi, which was so wonderful that we now regularly order cases of it to enjoy at home in Switzerland. Our favourites on the menu (I think we managed to try everything!) were the gnudi with sage (sometimes served with truffle), the ginger ravioli with poppy seeds, the garlic pici, the maiale with rosemary and honey, and the sformato which we also had once served with black truffle. We are real foodies and have eaten in all kinds of restaurants all over the world, from three star Michelin establishments to street food stands, always searching for places that blow us away. There is something very special about La Solita Zuppa and the honesty of the place, the inventiveness of the menu and yet its embrace of tradition. Italian food at its BEST. We hope to return again!

05/01/2025: An unforgettable experience every time! I have been to this restaurant four times, and each time it has been simply fantastic. The atmosphere is authentic and welcoming, perfect for savoring true Tuscan cuisine. Each dish is a celebration of the flavors of the area: from typical cured meats to first courses of homemade pasta, up to succulent meats cooked to perfection. The staff is always kind, attentive and ready to make the experience special. The view is breathtaking and adds that extra touch. I can't wait to return once again. It's the kind of place that makes you fall in love with Tuscany with every bite. Highly recommended!
04/01/2025: Beautiful village and exquisite food to say the least... the pici with saffron bacon and black cabbage are stellar!!!
