The food was great, but the overall experience slightly underwhelming. One of the staff members eating and stuffing his mouth behind the main counter and then my pet hate - being served a few slices of bread and some olive oil being described as a local delicacy and then charged 6 Euro for it! Honestly! Charge for it upfront or increase the fees of your menu items - this truly leaves a bad taste in the mouth!

This is hands down the best restaurant in Riomaggiore. It’s absolutely baffling to see a 4.2 star overall review. This is the only fine dining experience you’ll get in town and it is fantastic. Amazing gluten free options.

Three serving staff: 2 were lovely, unfortunately the guy who greeted then looked after us clearly didn't want to be there and was as miserable as sin. This paired with the god awful elevator music they were playing made for a dead atmosphere.
Now I know you're not supposed to expect a massive slap up meal at a place like this, but the food portions were TINY. My secondi plate was a fish-finger sized filet of croker and some carrot puree. The veggie options was a small potato rosti and a few spinach leaves. We actually went and grabbed a plate of pasta from a place up the road afterwards as we left feeling like we actually hadn't had a meal.
It all tasted lovely and was well cooked, but the food was nowhere near good enough to justify all of the above.
The wine list, on the other hand, was extensive and very well thought out.
Wouldn't go back.

Finally a good place in cinque terre that knows how to cook fish properly in cinque terre.
The chef definately spent a good amount of time trying different combination of the ingredients, the meal was very balanced.
Fresh and high quality olive oil makes such a great difference with good bread.
I had the Cipolla in 4 cotture, spuma di patate, aglio nero e liquirzia.
Onion was cooked to fine caramelization, earthy flavor and very mild spices to compliment the onion sweetness, and on top of that is the potato foam that mixes everything together. Very hearty. Plate was cleaned up with bread.
I enjoyed my dinner, but if I go again and have more time I would try the chef's menu.

A gem among Riomaggiore's mostly mass-tourism-oriented eateries.
Delicious food: original, local, very tasty, interesting combinations, and beautifully presented.
Exceptionally good wine and wine pairings by the sommelier.
Fuori Rotta is an absolute must-visit if you're looking for something more than just pasta or pizza!

Food was good... but very small portions.....great location away from the main drag. But massive draw back the music.... Jimmy Hendrix... Beatles. We come to italy for ITALY. Don't play for tourists.. We are in italy and love that ambience. So would love that music. Sorry for the negative review but honestly if you want just annoying tourists...do that :(

L’endroit est très agréable que ce soit en terrasse ou à l’intérieur, le personnel est souriant et compétent mais cela ne suffit pas pour être totalement satisfait. Les plats sont bons mais trop chers pour la quantité, nous avions pris, pour mon mari, le mouton servi avec 4 petits morceaux de pommes de terre….bon plat mais trop chiche et moi le poisson accompagné d’une endive !! Au mois de mai alors qu’il y a plein de légumes de saison ….facturé 27 euros ! Trop cher ! Dommage ça avait a l’air prometteur…

Comida increíble y una hermosa ubicación sobre la ciudad de Riomaggiore. La comida y 🍷 vino eran todos increíbles y el servicio era de primera categoría. ¡Es realmente una experiencia mucho mejor cenar aquí que comer en la ciudad!
