Fumaiolo Paradise Ristorante In Verghereto

We stopped by chance and since it was mid-afternoon we asked for two slices of cake and two coffees (all delicious) but paying 12 euros frankly seems excessive to me

Lured by the signs about the excellent food, we chose this place out of two at the pass. Let me start by saying that the staff was extremely kind and helpful. We ordered two first courses, gnocchi al fossa and truffle ravioli, and they were delicious. My daughter wanted the grilled meat, but it was sold out, so she opted for the pork shank with potatoes. I don't usually comment even if the food isn't excellent, but the pork shank was dry and tough—one little girl couldn't chew it—and the potatoes were the frozen ones from the bags; fresh ones would have been better. After the first courses, my husband ordered some greens, and I ordered a salad. The lettuce had brown streaks, and the tomatoes and cucumbers were clearly macerated. I don't know if it was from the day before or had been left out for too long with the tomato juice, but I couldn't finish it. I'm not boring; if the salad is from the day before, I don't throw it away, but for €5, I expect the ingredients to be fresh. I agree about the cleanliness of the bathroom... after lunch, I almost threw up because of the smell of urine in the women's bathroom. It's a shame because the place is worth it and the staff was really nice, but is there much room for improvement?

I went there for lunch after seeing a video and it inspired me... portions much smaller than those seen in the video, service a bit slow and disappointment with the cakes, definitely packaged stuff

I'm talking about the bar-restaurant: poor selection, decent courtesy, excellent "schiaccia"

We just grabbed a bite to eat before continuing our journey to Fumaiolo. A welcoming atmosphere and excellent slices of cake and cheesecake! Prices are a bit high, but still less than at a service station, justified by the touristy location.

Excellent quality products, all very good. If you pass by, I highly recommend it!

Ferragosto evening. We ate excellent lasagna and a delicious pork shank. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed. The restaurant is located on Mount Fumaiolo, and it's also a bar. They also serve barbecues.

A lovely, cool location on Monte Fumaiolo. Simple, friendly service.

Quite a nice place, good food but no wow, honest prices

Basically there are only two seats so, there is not much choice, there were two of us. We went here because it was recommended by a person on the street. Typical rustic mountain restaurant from the 90s let's say but pleasantly decorated. We were in quite a hurry but not that much, we read the menu which basically explained that there would be a wait for these we sat down at 12.30, we took two dishes each sure to speed up the service but it wasn't like that. The appetizers arrived after an hour! And the first after another hour asking every now and then, the wait is fine but we didn't expect two hours for two dishes. In the wake of the disappointment I was tempted to give two stars. The appetizer wasn't bad but the first courses with porcini mushrooms weren't that special let's say, there were few porcini mushrooms, the pasta was al dente but tasteless. A table that sat down 10 minutes after us finished eating 20 minutes before us! In the end the manager tried to offer the dessert for free, a commendable attempt but maybe he didn't understand that we had been sitting for two hours, maybe it would have been better not to charge us for the appetizer, I don't know, it would have been quicker... if you decide to try it, DO NOT go on holidays otherwise you will never get up. If the place fills up even halfway it becomes a problem. I don't know what difficulty they have in the kitchen, maybe organizational, but if they write it on the menu it means that it is their policy. I don't know how a kitchen should be organized to be faster, maybe hire more staff or have fewer burners anyway, the concept of slow food is understandable but in our case it was perhaps a bit exaggerated. I can't give an objective overall rating to the dishes because it was the first time we went, that's why I gave 3 stars. However, I think that if we were to go there again we wouldn't go. Let's say the bill was reasonable but the quality/price ratio was just not there. The waiters were very busy and efficient, the problem must be the kitchen. Since we didn't stay there, the rooms cannot be judged.
