Fumaiolo Paradise Ristorante In Verghereto

Quite a nice place, good food but no wow, honest prices

Basically there are only two seats so, there is not much choice, there were two of us. We went here because it was recommended by a person on the street. Typical rustic mountain restaurant from the 90s let's say but pleasantly decorated. We were in quite a hurry but not that much, we read the menu which basically explained that there would be a wait for these we sat down at 12.30, we took two dishes each sure to speed up the service but it wasn't like that. The appetizers arrived after an hour! And the first after another hour asking every now and then, the wait is fine but we didn't expect two hours for two dishes. In the wake of the disappointment I was tempted to give two stars. The appetizer wasn't bad but the first courses with porcini mushrooms weren't that special let's say, there were few porcini mushrooms, the pasta was al dente but tasteless. A table that sat down 10 minutes after us finished eating 20 minutes before us! In the end the manager tried to offer the dessert for free, a commendable attempt but maybe he didn't understand that we had been sitting for two hours, maybe it would have been better not to charge us for the appetizer, I don't know, it would have been quicker... if you decide to try it, DO NOT go on holidays otherwise you will never get up. If the place fills up even halfway it becomes a problem. I don't know what difficulty they have in the kitchen, maybe organizational, but if they write it on the menu it means that it is their policy. I don't know how a kitchen should be organized to be faster, maybe hire more staff or have fewer burners anyway, the concept of slow food is understandable but in our case it was perhaps a bit exaggerated. I can't give an objective overall rating to the dishes because it was the first time we went, that's why I gave 3 stars. However, I think that if we were to go there again we wouldn't go. Let's say the bill was reasonable but the quality/price ratio was just not there. The waiters were very busy and efficient, the problem must be the kitchen. Since we didn't stay there, the rooms cannot be judged.

The location on Mount Fumaiolo certainly guarantees a good flow of customers. The cuisine can be improved a lot...for example, the pappardelle used are not homemade but are dried pasta from the supermarket. The shin, good but without a drop of sauce...desserts frozen and defrosted in the microwave when needed as explained by the waitress when more than one person found it strange that they served a hot semifreddo. The range of appetizers is beautiful and good, but they are not local cured meats. Great praise for the cover of the menu in which it invites you to be patient for the wait that gives you hope!

Hi, I'm Gigi, a member of the Cremonascooterclub motorcyclists group. We stayed at the Fumaiolo Paradise hotel restaurant for an overnight stay. An enchanting place, top-notch cuisine, very kind staff and 600 m away you can visit the source of the Tiber. Believe me, try it and believe it, I recommend it to everyone.

We have been to this restaurant a few times and have always eaten very well. The staff is friendly. The prices are good. The fried mushrooms are recommended. Excellent. It is located near the source of the Tiber

Excellent cuisine and plentiful.

Went on an adventure with my 4 year old son. Found this place which seemed magnificent to us. It's definitely not a 5 star, it doesn't even want to be. But the experience was extremely pleasant, the simple and traditional cuisine was good, but tasty and genuine; The staff were very friendly, the room was clean and warm. I've read some of the other reviews and frankly I find the negative ones ridiculous... If you want a luxury experience, this is not the place for you, don't go there and if you go then don't complain. If, however, you want a quiet, relaxed and unpretentious experience, this place is highly recommended in all seasons. I will certainly return in the future even just to re-appreciate the cuisine. Never eaten a tastier (organic) cut!

The owner welcomed us and our big dog without any booking on a Sunday lunchtime. Service was a bit cold and slow though the place wasn't full. Food was ok. The deer steak was flavourful but slightly overcooked. Side dishes were tasty. The desserts on the other hand... Tiramisu made with raisin panettone and without a hint of coffee... I paid 68€ for 2.

The place is a bit kitsch, but pleasant. The service is quite slow and not very present. The food is average, good but not fantastic. What ruined our lunch was the tiramisu made with panettone and raisins... If you want to invent a dessert, go ahead, but don't call it tiramisu, otherwise whoever takes it expects something that doesn't arrive and is really far from what it should be... Unfortunately, ending like this doesn't help...

Great hospitality for our Nordic Walking group of 24 people. And the snow-covered paths of the Fumaiolo are beautiful!
