My husband and I travelled to Italy for our honeymoon in October. One of the stops on our list was Naples (pizza), however we decided to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and make an island getaway to Ischia. We treated ourselves to a stay at the San Montano resort, and were truly so spoiled in the days we spent there. The first surprise was a complimentary upgrade to one of the infinity pool suites. Complimentary shuttle services transported us to and from the ferry terminal, the main town, and to the Spiaggia di San Montano, where lounge chairs and umbrellas were provided for hotel guests. We could have stayed at that beach all day. On a day when we wanted to travel further afield on the island, the concierge assisted us with booking a taxi and giving some direction for our adventure. Breakfast was a delight and featured fresh balls of mozzarella, a ham and salami slicing station (!), freshly baked bread, and an impressive array of muesli, dried fruits and nuts, sweets, and homemade jams and preserves. I highly recommend the lemon marmalade. The cocktails and menu at the dining restaurant were delicious (but expensive), and the wait staff went above and beyond to ensure an enjoyable experience. The infinity pool suite was spacious and well kept by the cleaning staff, and we visited the complimentary spa, sauna, steam room and mineral bath every day. We loved all of the outdoor pools and the amazing views afforded by being up on the mountain, but were especially impressed by the sea pool. The “natural sauna” was not super hot but was very unique and something I had never experienced. We also treated ourselves to the limontano massage package, which was heavenly. We were so glad to be able to stay at the San Montano and would absolutely love an opportunity to return for a special occasion.

For a moment I really thought that I was dreaming. When we arrived in the Suite S2 I was enchanted from the very first moment. The private entrance from our terrace to the pool with this unique view was just a 10/10. I will never forget this magnificent sunset over the green little mountain. The luxury to see all this also from the bedroom is something really special. I loved every detail in the room, especially the Dyson hairdryer, the bodylotion from Acqua di Parma and the green tea from Firenze. We enjoyed also the generous breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is really no need to leave the hotel, because here you have everything. Shoutout also to Giovanni who made a wonderful massage. All in all this weekend will stay forever in my heart. Thanks to all the team for your kindness. We will definitely come back.

It all comes from the idea of ​​wanting to spend a special day to celebrate our anniversary. We choose to spend this moment in a 5-star island hotel and after a careful analysis of the various hotels, we choose the San Montano. I have been lucky enough to stay in various 5 star hotels around the world and the common denominator of luxury hotels is surprise and at the same time certainty of service and quality. The surprises here are in the details, in the taste of the furniture, in the choice of colours, in the highly qualified, smiling staff, ready to put you at ease with any request. You get certainties in the quality of the food, in the comfort and refinement of every object in the room, just to name a few, from the Dyson hairdryer to top-level products such as Parma water, sheets, towels, everything was highly prized and unique. I even believe that the value for money is lower than what is offered to you. A final mention, however, is due to those who manage this place. I had the pleasure of casually meeting the general manager, an exquisite as well as knowledgeable person (he was aware of the provenance of every piece of furniture or detail which I was particularly fascinated by) a sign of passion and desire in wanting to convey indelible moments for those who stay at San Montano , a highly successful task, even well beyond expectations. Finally, preparation of the staff which has nothing to envy of the various four season or st regis just to name a few. In short, Ischia needs structures like this to increase the value of the island itself, so once again THANK YOU for this unforgettable day.

Oh my goodness, this hotel is LEVELS. It blew my mind that such a beautiful hotel could exist, with not just one but eleven natural thermal spring pools, with the most divine panoramic views overlooking the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius. The rooms were stylish, beautiful and comfortable and I was particularly amazed that there is a Dyson hairdryer in every room. The spa was out of this world with such great views. Loved the breakfast selection. Most of all, I really loved the receptionists and the team. Would so love to stay again. We went off season at the start of April and found everything to be perfect.
