The BIG bakery has the kindest, friendliest and most generous baker we’ve ever met. The service is outstanding and the baked goods delicious and incredibly reasonably priced. It’s well worth a visit to this simple unpretentious and authentic bakery in the cool neighbourhood of San Nicola.

This place is magic and tucked away between Boboli Gardens and Pitti Palace. Outstanding pastries, bread, coffee and people. Genuine and friendly service. Prices are cheap when compared to everywhere else and every bit as good if not better. We had breakfast and then stocked up on pizza and pastries for lunch, highly recommend

It's a bakery where nothing is left to chance. The products are all top-quality, with top-quality ingredients and raw materials. Lorenzo, the owner, is a wonderful person who puts a lot of passion into his work. They use sourdough starters in their dough. From breakfast to schiacciata, you're spoiled for choice. For me, Forno San Nicolò is a must-try and a place I definitely recommend for both Florence and anyone passing through. Congratulations to everyone. A special mention for Viola, who is very kind and generous. Thank you.

Clean atmosphere, friendly staff, and excellent quality of both the schiacciata and the bread. I'll definitely be back, especially since we discovered they serve excellent first courses and other delicious dishes. It's a shame they don't have it closer to home. See you soon

02/03/2026: We stumbled upon this restaurant completely by chance, and it was a real find! From the very first minute, we were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful, thoughtful presentation and cozy atmosphere. The very polite and welcoming owner makes you feel genuinely welcome. The waitress is attentive, tactful, and professional, and the service is top-notch. The menu is varied and well-thought-out, and all dishes are prepared immediately before serving. The bread, baked by the chef on the spot, is especially delightful. It's simply magnificent! A compliment from the chef was a pleasant surprise—such a gesture is always especially appreciated. Finally, we were invited to see the wine cellar, an atmospheric and beautiful space where events are held. We were very impressed. We definitely recommend it and will definitely be back!
