A historic bakery in the heart of Monteverde, Forno Marchetti is a true neighborhood institution, and you immediately understand why as soon as you enter. I stopped by on a Saturday just before closing time, and... the bread counter was practically empty: a sure sign that goodness sells like hotcakes here! The little that was left spoke volumes, but I was also struck by the kindness and hospitality of the owners, who make you feel at home, with the smile of those who truly love their work. Their highlight? The scrocchiarella, the finest crust, simply legendary. Whether it's red with tomato or white, it's crunchy, light, and flavorful: one of those things that makes you want to return every day. An authentic place, where tradition, quality, and humanity meet. Highly recommended.
