Foresteria S. Scolastica In Subiaco

This year wasn't a pleasant experience. Four out of five nights I couldn't sleep due to the noise of so many guests until the wee hours. Arrivals and departures in the middle of the night (1:30 AM/3:30 PM) with dozens of suitcases like caterpillars. Luckily, I recovered a bit on the last night.

I only used the restaurant during my visit to the Benedictine monasteries. The atmosphere was clean and quiet. The service was friendly. The fixed-price menu was available for €28.

Everything was good except the tagliolini on the set menu. I therefore recommend choosing the à la carte menu. I only ate there; I can't comment on the rooms. I wanted to highlight the friendliness of the waiters; it's unusual and unpredictable.

The atmosphere is charming and peaceful, the reception staff are always helpful and friendly, and the breakfast is very good and varied. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to visit monasteries, villages, and the surrounding nature.

I thank all the staff at the Monastery of Santa Scolastica, where my pet and I stayed. They welcomed us with warmth and care, offering us a clean, spacious room, surrounded by greenery, silence, and peace. It included all the amenities of a large hotel, but above all, the attentiveness and concern of its staff! The staff, from the receptionist who took our reservations to the restaurant and bar managers, all made sure that we lacked nothing, that we had everything we needed, and the information we needed to enjoy a peaceful and pleasant stay. It was a wonderful experience, especially for those who don't want to leave their four-legged friend at home!

A unique place, where spirituality and natural beauty blend perfectly. A special mention goes to the restaurant, where you can enjoy delicious dishes, and to the helpfulness and courtesy of the manager and all the staff.

This is my second year back. A little paradise. A monastery full of frescoes and discoveries. Worth a visit. Stroll around and enjoy the evening breeze. Friendly and helpful staff. Welcoming and basic rooms. Highly recommended! ☺️🖐️💛

As a pilgrim by bike, apart from the climb, I appreciated the room and the huge bathroom. In the evening I left the windows open and there was fresh air that refreshed my sleep... fantastic view!

We ate at Forestiera as a pilgrim group from UK of 46 people . We traveled there from Rome to visit the spectacular monasteries of St Benedict and St Scolastica. We booked in advance and the large private room was already ready for us laid out on two monastery style tables complete with bread and wine. The four course meal consisted of an amazing anti pasto of salamis and cheese followed by gnocchi in a delicious sauce, followed by a beef casserole with roast potatoes and salad. Then a home made slice of apricot tart . The service , taste and presentation of the meal felt like a wedding reception. All the pilgrims were thrilled with the meal and afterwards we all sat in the sunshine overlooking the stunning views to drink coffees. I would definitely return to eat at the Forestiera.
