excellent pizza, even the traditional dishes are excellent, well-prepared and very good

Every time we make the trip from Parma to Calestano, this is where we end up—and not by accident. Albergo Ristorante Fontana is our go-to when we want to escape the city and just breathe, eat ridiculously well, and sit in a place that feels like a dream carved out of a Tuscan movie set. We had lunch on the veranda, tucked in the lush garden with a light breeze gently rustling the trees—perfect doesn’t even begin to cover it. The food? Elegant, seasonal, and built around the star of the area: tartufo. I started with the verdure spadellate con tartufo, a dish that somehow made vegetables taste luxurious. Then came the tagliolino con gambero e tartufo, which I would happily eat every weekend for the rest of my life—delicate, fragrant, and just indulgent enough without being heavy. Finished with the gelato gourmet della casa alla vaniglia, which was anything but basic. Silky, rich, and clearly homemade. Service is warm and genuinely welcoming—these are people who care about what they’re serving and how you experience it. The place itself is full of quiet grandeur: part historic hotel, part modern gourmet restaurant, all set in what feels like a hidden mountain village. We come here often, and it never disappoints. If you’re anywhere near Parma, make the drive. You’ll be glad you did.

The cuisine (truffle specialty) and pizza are excellent, using high-quality ingredients. The service is friendly, precise, and attentive. Torta Antica is a spectacle.

Excellent pizza, made with top-quality ingredients. The traditional dishes are also excellent. A vast and surprising selection of wines. Friendly and fast service. The outdoor seating is very cool, and the tables in the cellar are charming. The prices are definitely fair. Recommended!

Alla ricerca di qualche grado in meno, abbiamo provato questo ristorante su consiglio di amici e non siamo rimasti delusi. Abbiamo ovviamente scelto di cenare all’esterno nell’ampio spazio sul retro. Moltissimo personale, giovane ed efficiente. Abbiamo scelto di cenare col menù alla carta provando anche alcune specialità con tartufo a nostro parere veramente ottime!! Vorremmo provare al più presto anche la pizza, perché ne abbiamo viste passare e avevano un aspetto veramente invitante!! da provare assolutamente il loro gelato gourmet!! Non propriamente economico ma prezzi giustificati dalla qualità.Animali ben accetti.

Excellent dishes, carefully selected and carefully crafted; truly exceptional gourmet pizza. Housed in a beautiful, renovated historic building. Outdoor seating is also available in the large, well-appointed, and peaceful garden. The staff is particularly friendly.
