The food was incredible. We ordered peppers and pasta carbonara, and everything was exquisite.

The cacio e pepe is wonderful, the carbonara is good, if a little silly, and the tripe and antipasti are excellent. Always a sure thing.

Flavio al Velavevodetto is a Real Roman Restaurant with one of the largest wine lists that I have ever seen in a Roman Cuisine Restaurant.
Serves all of the classic Roman dishes and they are the original ones, all the food is delicious, the wine selection mentioned is absolutely fantastic.
The restaurant during the summer season has also a pretty sweet outside area that makes enjoy more the pretty nice weather.
If you never tried is a must In Rome.
P.S. the Rigatoni with Pajata are to die for.

In terms of atmosphere, I think we can do much better. As for the carbonara we chose, because it is their signature dish, I find that their giancale is much overcooked, it becomes crispy and even too salty because of this.

Calling it Roman cuisine is embarrassing! It's Roman cuisine adapted for tourists, which the restaurant is actually packed with.
I'm Roman, and in the carninara, you couldn't even see the rigatoni because of the semi-liquid cream covering them, and the tripe tasted absolutely nothing, absolutely nothing.
Give us a nice sushi.

The food is good, of course, but it no longer makes up for the confusion, the long wait, and the agitated waiters, who are so busy they snatch your plate away while you're taking your last bite. Not to mention the prices, which are still above average for a Roman trattoria. Maybe in the middle of the week or during a less touristy time of year, otherwise it's more stress than pleasure.

The interior dining room is very beautiful, with all the shards on display.
We ordered a carbonara (€14)...good but nothing special, and with only 10 tiny pieces of bacon.
The appetizers were banal and touristy (eggplant caponata; 24-month-old Parma ham; caprese).
Honestly, I don't think I'll return. It may have been an institution many years ago, but now it's very touristy.

Piatti tipicamente romani, porzioni abbondanti e ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo.
Consigliatissimo!

No comment!
