The pizza was excellent, with a light, crispy dough that still retains the typical Neapolitan crust. The ingredients were high-quality. I didn't particularly appreciate the zucchini blossom, but that's just my personal preference, as I'm not crazy about these thick, crunchy breadings. The filling was excellent. The location isn't the best, but the place, though small, was cozy and well-air-conditioned. The prices were competitive compared to the astronomical prices you'll find elsewhere these days. An experience worth repeating.

A mid-range pizzeria, the pizza is good, cooked in a seemingly wood-fired oven, but in keeping with current trends regarding the potential dangers of wood residue, it's actually gas-fired. Regardless, the pizza was cooked perfectly. It's halfway between the original Neapolitan style and a nod to Roman flavor, with a not-overly-large crust. The toppings seemed high-quality, the buffalo mozzarella was good, as were the anchovies, which pizzerias often fail to appreciate. A few notes on the fried foods...the breaded rather than battered zucchini flowers recipe is fun and successful, but the suppli' are just not up to par. If you're serving a typical Roman recipe, you can't go wrong: the rice is overcooked, and the sauce is tomato and basil, but very "tomatoy"—in short, seriously inadequate as a suppli. The Crocchè is also a disappointment.
For Neapolitans to fail with a traditional recipe is very strange; the dough is like glue. The usual downside for almost all places these days is selling supermarket beers (except for Birra del Borgo) at crazy prices. A 50-euro Ichnusa, which in supermarkets usually costs 1.50 euros, but is sold for 5.50 euros, seems a little unfamiliar to me as a "family" pizzeria, as they call themselves.
Lastly, I was tempted by the ad for a 27-euro couple's menu, but I never found it in reality.
In conclusion, the pizza is rated 8, everything else is rated 6...for me, that is.

The fried foods are exceptional. They're the best I've ever eaten in Rome.
The pizza is also very good. Excellent sauce, light dough, and rich in ingredients.
Highly recommended pizzeria

Our first visit to Fiori di Zucca was a truly positive experience. The pizzas are truly unique: it's not a Neapolitan dough, but it's not Roman either... it's an original and truly enjoyable type of pizza that, for its dough, cooking method, and flavor combinations, is absolutely worth trying. Special mention for the fried pizzas... simply wonderful, you should try them all!
