03/12/2024: I don't give 5 stars only because I have to return to taste other dishes from this restaurant discovered by chance on my way back from Lake Maggiore. The grilled duck is worth a trip, the mixed grill was really excellent. The quality of cooking of these meats was a real surprise. We also tasted a platter and a sauce with Luganega and didn't find a flaw. Value for money 9.

Passing through, returning home after a long business trip, we booked blindly, based only on the average rating and reading the negative reviews of the places in the area....we were more than lucky!
The restaurant is located just outside the center of Modena, it is almost invisible from the outside, also thanks to the sign hidden by a plant.
A table was reserved for us in an uncomfortable environment which certainly appears to be outdoors in summer, given the drafts that could be felt coming from the thin curtain panels; the rest of the structure instead seemed well-kept, warm and welcoming.
The service is courteous, precise and fast. The owner however, during the evening conveyed to us his professionalism and passion for cooking.
We ordered two types of appetizer, the platter with fried gnocco and cured meats and the Luganega sauce, and we appreciated both: the light and dry gnocco was excellent!
Then we tried two second courses, mixed grill and grilled duck breast.
We were thrilled, there's little else to say! Exquisite meat, tender as butter, juicy, tasty, expertly cooked: I haven't eaten anything this good for years.
To accompany everything, a good bottle of red wine.
To finish, a homemade tart with black cherry jam which we paired with an excellent ratafià.
Bill proportionate to the quality of the food, but when you eat so well every euro is well invested!
