I have no idea why this restaurant is not the number one restaurant in all of Tuscany. It is by far the best dinning experience we had in Italy in our 3 week trip. 10 of us went for dinner and were met by Fabri a friendly vivacious postive guy. He had a table ready on the outdoor patio over looking the Chanti hills. This mother did the cooking and he was the host and ran the barbaque. We had no idea what was to be served.He served everything fresh from his farm execpt the wild mushrooms that were forged in the nearby mountains. Dishes in Brocchetta, 2 types of salads,barbaqued serrano peppers, wild mushrooms, homemade pasta, Steak Florentine, Chicken, Port sausgage, 2 different types of fish and dessert all served family style with enthusiasm and passion.Addtionally, we has Aperol Spritz, several bottles of red wine ,white wine, and prosecco followed by limoncello and meloncello.The dinner was 3.5 hours of pure satisfaction and the bill including eveything for 10 people was 360 Euros.The best food and best value on our entire trip.Fabri even gave us a couple more bottles of wine to go.It was nothing short of fabulous.
Vi gick till Fabri helt oplanerat. Vi var ett sällskap om 6 personer. Vuxna och barn. Från att vi satte oss till att vi lämnade var vi helt i händerna på kocken Fabri. Rätt häftig upplevelse tycker vi ändå. Då vi inte pratade italienska eller de engelska, så ställdes inga frågor om upplägg priser, allergier eller val av rätter. Vi visste inte vad som väntade oss.
Fabris hemmarestaurang blev en riktigt överraskning. Bordet vecklades ut allt eftersom med toskanska specialitéer. Ostar, viner, förrätter med ekologiska råvaror där allt smakade fantastiskt. Höjdpunkten var definitivt rostbiffen och ostarna och kul att han kastade in en tomat och basilikapasta till barnen.
Mer autentiskt än så här, blir det inte, om man inte går och sätter sig vid Fabris matbord med familjen. Nära, fantastiskt gott, överraskningar och just att vi inte visste vad som skulle komma. Det bästa med att slippa göra val och bara erbjudas rätt efter rätt av någon som vet vad alla borde få smaka, When in Tuscany.
Dock hade vi ingen aning om vad notan skulle landa på. Tips är att ta med kontanter så det räcker.
