We ended up near a very noisy table and this should be taken into account if you are looking for silence and the possibility of chatting, but the fact that it is so full makes you understand how much it is appreciated by the customers.

Talking about “Essenza” as a surprise, in San Michele Salentino, is like underestimating the great research work that the restaurant has been carrying out for some time and with constant passion. This restaurant is a strong point of the area and does an interesting job in local gastronomy which is measurable in the construction of an aesthetic which, although referring to a Salento code, is purified from the harshest tourist rhetoric. The cuisine is sophisticated and never banal. My passion for raw fish is amply rewarded by dishes that shine with simplicity and slightly exotic notes. It must be said that the quality of the raw materials and the service, in general, place it in a high range so the 4 star rating is interesting and I think real. With the festive cadences that the Gregorian calendar commands, I promptly renew the appointment with this table and with satisfaction.

Antonio the very good chef, Mauro in the dining room very kind and attentive in making you feel good, a good combination that makes this restaurant an excellence. I go often because it is an environment that relaxes me and then I eat quality food at a price that is not exaggerated. I highly recommend it, if you go there at least once, you will definitely come back. Here obviously my friend and I exaggerated by taking a 1.8 kg red snapper... we devoured it 😅

C'è poco da dire: un posto straordinario. Qualità del pesce ottima, interpretato con intelligenza e gusto. Locale piacevolissimo e servizio estremamente cortese. In breve un posto in cui tornare, il prezzo più che ragionevole.
