We tried typical dishes, all very good. The place is very quaint and pleasant.
We were here in early January; it was a bit chilly inside, but overall, it was a very positive experience.

Super delicious pumpkin cappellacci, melt-in-your-mouth braised beef with a special sauce.
Recommended the shortcrust pastry cookies 😍
Everything excellent 👌🏼

Passing through Ferrara, we chose this place for dinner, instinctively and intrigued by its history. They don't take reservations, but we arrived at 7:30 pm and didn't have to wait. The service was prompt and unobtrusive, but very attentive, especially in explaining the typical dishes and (organic) wines to help us choose. The charcuterie board was delicious to start, and the pasta dishes with ragù (tagliatelle and cappellacci with pumpkin) were excellent. A special mention goes to the braised beef in wine, which was exquisite. Overall, we had a wonderful time; the place is unique and welcoming (the covers, as well as the jazz music, were also very much appreciated). Highly recommended.

Great place. The oldest winery in the world according to Guinness. The waiters are outstanding. Excellent wines and food.

Beautiful place! The wine was a bit lacking (as was the selection). Otherwise, the food was delicious, and the staff was very friendly.

A very charming and quaint place, definitely worth trying at least once! I've been there three times, and unfortunately, the food has never convinced me... a braised beef that didn't melt in your mouth as it should, served with mashed potatoes and a cold salad on the same plate, fresh from the fridge... but why?!
The waiter was very efficient, but he must have forgotten his smile at home.
Worth a try, and maybe try something else later...

The initial contact with the staff wasn't the best, but things improved afterward (there was a bit of chaos at the entrance, to be fair).
We ordered two menus; the pumpkin tortelloni were spectacular, but I wasn't crazy about the salami with mashed potatoes. The desserts weren't the best.

Al Brindisi is one of those places that feels less like a restaurant and more like a living piece of Ferrara’s history. Tucked away on a quiet street, this tiny osteria proudly claims to be one of the oldest wine bars in the world, and the atmosphere fully lives up to that legacy—intimate, rustic, and full of character.
