Atmosphere: This place is bursting with color. Placemats with Day of the Dead icicles, mustard-yellow walls, a portrait of Frida Kahlo looking at you from the wall. It's not your typical elegant white-tablecloth Mexican place: it's casual, noisy, and fun. You come in to eat, and you leave wanting a party. The burritos: The absolute stars. A large tortilla, seared on a griddle with just the right amount of burnt edges. Inside, you'll find everything: moist, spiced rice, crispy breaded chicken, melted cheese, lettuce, and tomato. There's also a "redder" version, probably with chili or meat. They're perfectly sealed: compact, they don't fall apart, and the filling doesn't escape. Generous portions: one is enough for a full dinner. The plating is simple but thoughtful. A square white plate, a sprinkling of paprika, drops of salsa that "dirty" in a deliberately street-style way. Always that little tuft of lettuce with jalapeño on the side: so you can adjust the spiciness yourself. To drink: In addition to the classic Coca-Cola can, they have gems like "La Muerte - Mexican Beer Amber Ale." A crazy label with the El Musico skeleton playing the guitar. The amber beer is perfect with the burritos' rich flavors. A detail that shows how much they care about the theme. Experience: Fast, friendly, no-frills service. Truly delicious dishes, creatively and tastefully presented. Clean place, excellent service, friendly waiters... we had a wonderful evening with background music and excellent food. Reasonably priced. We'll definitely be back.

Helpful and friendly staff, offering a set menu with generous dishes. Also suitable for vegetarians, the restaurant offers the same dishes with other ingredients in place of the meat. Intimate venue, reservations recommended.

I can't compare it to other Mexican restaurants since it's the only one I've been to, but I can say that every time we've been there with friends, the food has been good and the portions are generous. The spiciness isn't as bad as some might expect; in fact, I've only tried the group menu, so I'm not sure if the standard menu has any particularly spicy dishes. The service is always very nice and welcoming. I'm not crazy about the ceiling curtains, but that's another story.

El Habanero is a place with tasty food and generous portions, friendly staff, and a convivial atmosphere, ideal if you're looking for a casual and tasty Mexican dinner in Pontedera. The only downside to this evening is the rude staff who bring barking dogs to the table!!!

I have no experience with Mexican cuisine, and I was worried the dishes would be too spicy. I was shocked: The dishes were delicious, with well-balanced flavors and spices. The menu clearly indicates when the dish is very spicy (but it's still edible even for those who aren't used to it). The menu offers several dishes for two to share. We had a beer and an excellent sangria (typical drinks don't have a high alcohol content, so there's no risk of a hangover!) We want to return soon to try other dishes on the menu! The owner is very attentive and personally takes care of the service!
