Écru In Roma

I was really looking forward to visiting this restaurant — especially after spending several days in Matera without any vegan options and relying mostly on supermarket items. I came to Rome excited to finally enjoy a proper, wholesome, organic meal here. I even crossed half the city on foot just to get to the restaurant, after choosing it based on the beautiful photos and reviews on HappyCow. Unfortunately, when I arrived, the restaurant was closed — and not just for the day, but apparently for two full weeks. This information wasn’t updated on Google, HappyCow, or their social pages, which made the disappointment even greater. I completely understand that businesses sometimes need to close — it happens. But it would truly help travelers (especially those coming from far, or with specific dietary needs) if opening hours and temporary closures were kept updated online. I hope this feedback is helpful, because many people rely on these platforms when choosing where to eat. I would still love to visit in the future, but accurate information would make the experience much smoother for everyone.

It’s such a relief to find a vegan place with raw and sugar-free desserts in Rome (they use dates, agave syrup and coconut sugar)! The tiramisu was not too sweet (which is a good thing) and very delicate in flavour and texture! The rocher was also nice. Definitely go try them!

Delicious food all natural and raw ingredients so everything is vegan. Beautiful place and lovely people. Really recommend it!

Cool little cafe/bar serving very tasty raw burgers/sandwiches. The bread, burger pattys and sauces were all very good. Portion sizes are small for the price though, I could have easily eaten another one and probably still not been overly full. Maybe adding at least a side salad to the larger plates on their menu would help bulk things out a little?

It's a rare dream when I go to Écru. For me, a vegan who is demanding about quality, it's the only place in Rome!

Not far from the hotel, we found this very nice place with excellent vegan cuisine. Everything is homemade. We recommend it. Be careful, there are only a few tables!

Good vegetarian cuisine. Original, but not cheap for the amount of food. Friendly service.

My wife and I travel a lot for work and try at least 5-6 new places a month. Ecru is still our favorite. Good, balanced, tasty, super digestible, and they're always super friendly. Highly recommended!

Así que terminaste tu recorrido por el Vaticano y te duelen los pies y estás listo para terminar con las multitudes. Esta joya está a solo 10 minutos a pie, pero a un mundo de distancia. Los alimentos saludables y artesanales están en el menú. El tofu casero era increíble. Hermosos bocadillos, ensaladas y postres. Buenos vinos por copa. Después de un vaso (o dos) , sus pies y el estado de ánimo se aligerarán. Disfruta!
