Cute spot with fresh food and friendly service.

I found this place on the Happy Cow app. It's about a 20-25 minute walk from the Vatican. I came here for dinner after finishing my trip to the Vatican Museum. It was easy to find with Google maps. I was the only one there at 6:15 pm on a Friday mid December. This seems to be a good time to visit Rome because it's not as crowded as summer in general. I was a little nervous eating at a place with "raw vegan" as the big draw because I wasn't sure how good the food would be. But it ended up being a lot better than I expected. I ordered lentil soup and the portion was huge. It was very savory and satisfying. It gave me the warm feelings of a loving home. I also had a glass of orange juice. I like the way fresh squeezed juice tastes and I really enjoy pulp so it was perfect. It isn't overly sweet and it has the perfect tanginess. I also got a Golden Milk latte and that tasted as expected. It isn't sweet at all. It has a strong turmeric flavor. I also got vegetable sushi. That was a generous portion as well, but if I had that alone I would still be hungry. The rolls were really pleasant. They were like eating a bite sized fresh salad. The wasabi wasn't spicy at all and I wish it was a little bit. I also would have liked a little more wasabi to spread between the roll pieces. There was avocado styled like sashimi and it had fresh olive oil and salt on top of it. It was really creamy with the perfect texture. I highly recommend checking this place out if you are vegan. The flavors were good, but be warned the prices were high (but everything is fresh so it's understandable). I would have liked to see more traditional Italian dishes on the menu like pizza or pasta only because that would be a really nice find while in Italy. I will definitely come here again next time I'm in Rome. Pros: Big portions, Good flavors, Lots of options

Very nice cafe and very tasty food

Nice day to sit on the patio and enjoy glasses of bio wine, also had the mushroom caps with cream spinach and savory ginger and finished with a peanut butter bar. Excellent food and service!

Really interesting place with good quality food.

I recently reviewed my past Google reviews and discovered I had mistakenly given this incredible place a 1-star rating—I have no idea how that happened! It must have been some sort of accidental "butt dial" review. I’m happy to correct it now because this gem in the middle of Rome absolutely deserves 5 stars. Even though it’s been five years, I still remember how much I loved this place. My sincere apologies for the error, and thank you for such a memorable experience!

It’s been a long time since the last time I ate in a restaurant and felt like home. This is what Écru is like, a place where everything is done with love and care. The ambiance is absolutely beautiful, good music, good deco and their staff is so friendly. I don’t want to be wrong but I’m guessing the owners were the ones in charge and you can tell by far how dedicated are with each costumer. The food is delicious done with fresh ingredients and creativity, every plate has a unique touch. They also have great quality coffee and a great variety of desserts. Next time I’m in Rome I will definitely be back!
