Very positive experience, a small (so I recommend booking) but welcoming environment. Lots of bottles of wine and an excellent counter with a great variety of cured meats and cheeses. We started with a mixed platter for 2, with cured meats and cheeses, really excellent, then we continued with a savory Maritozzo with pulled beef and a Naan bread with coppa and pecorino. Our friends opted for a platter (of the Shepherd) of mixed French cheeses. All accompanied by a bottle of Jasmin (Sicilian wine made from Zibibbo grapes). Friendly, polite staff and fast service. Highly recommended.

Difficile trovarsi a passare per caso da codesta via cherso, nelle sconfinate periferie di Roma est lungo evocative vie romane che conducevano ad altrettanto antiche città, come Collazia o Preneste… Sarà per questo che il locale ha un nome latineggiante, perché altro della Roma dei cesari qui non ce n’è. Il locale però è bellino, accogliente, intimo. Il signore che immagino sia il proprietario fa sentire l’ospite a casa, consiglia buoni vini anche a me che non bevo, porta ai piccoli tavoli dei piatti semplici ma curati e gustosi. Veramente commuoventi i prezzi, almeno quanto il bel salame di corallina lungo qualche metro che fa bella mostra di sé sul bancone. Bravi, grazie.

We had to ask for water three times before it was brought to us and when the wine was poured, the innkeeper must not have reckoned well with the guests as several of us ended up with a measly drop in the glass. .
