E' cucina Leopardi In Bologna

We had dinner at È Cucina Leopardi choosing the surprise menu, available next to the à la carte menu. A pleasant experience, but without any real peaks: we left full and quite satisfied, but not with an immediate desire to return. The place has a very informal, almost domestic feel: not particularly cared for in the details, with some corners that perhaps would not pass a check by the ASL, but the atmosphere is relaxed and the service is decidedly friendly. A special mention goes to Giuseppe, the waiter: young, polite, attentive, he looked after us throughout the dinner with kindness and professionalism. For the appetizer I had tuna tartare, tomato gazpacho, courgette chips and four cubes of melon, an element that however seemed a bit forced in the context. My friend, who does not eat fish, received an alternative with Fassona tartare served on warm apple cream, accompanied by roasted aubergine, parmesan flakes and green beans. The first course, a sort of “liquid lasagna” with cream of potatoes and asparagus, was the least successful dish: an interesting idea, but the execution was a bit heavy and not very centered, with a feeling of a reheated dish. The second course, roulade of cockerel and sausage with green beans, was well cooked but lacking in energy, also penalized by the repetition of the same ingredients as the appetizer. The bread, on the other hand, was one of the strong points of the dinner: nettles, artisanal breadsticks, white and red focaccia, all homemade and served generously. The dessert was presented in a trio: chocolate Pistocchi cake, zuppa inglese and ricotta zuccotto with strawberry cream and passion fruit. Delicious and well-measured, with the chocolate cake clearly ahead of the rest. It ended well. The owner, probably also a chef, seems passionate about ceramics; many dishes are made by him, and the environment reflects a certain personal vision, a creative touch that sometimes remains a bit rough. In short, an honest dinner, with good will and generous portions, but that does not leave a mark. We took two tasting menus, four 33 ml Menabrea and two small glass bottles of water, for a total of 80 euros.

I often and very willingly return for lunch to É cucina, a point of reference that I am very fond of. The formula of the daily menus to choose from manages to guarantee reasonable prices in the face of a quality of the dishes served that is always surprising, with generous and very well-prepared portions. The service guys are very courteous and kind, even if the increase in seats has inevitably led to a slowdown. Overall, the place in the city with the best quality-price ratio. Highly recommended

I think there is no other place in Italy where the quality/price ratio is so high. Few dishes but good, friendly and prepared staff

Some friends who often go there during their lunch break took me there but honestly I don't know if I would go back, or maybe I would only go back if I wanted to have lunch and spend only €12. Let's draw a veil over the place. It wouldn't take much to make it acceptable, at least a whitewash on the walls and ceiling to remove the damaged parts. The menu includes 2 first courses and 2 second courses (meat and fish), the pasta was homemade by them and was very thick and rubbery. The second course was very good with high quality fish. The dessert was a terrible banana cake accompanied by a cream (also homemade) that was really good. In short, they make everything at home but the pasta definitely needs to be reviewed. You spend €12 just for an appetizer and first course or €22 for an appetizer, first course and second course. Water and coffee are extra.

Excellent food with non-trivial recipes and right portions. Perhaps not suitable for those who want traditional cuisine but the flavors are still good. The service is fast and courteous. Our waiter Federico was pleasant and available. The price is quite cheap and above all you can choose whether just the first course or a more complete meal. Recommended for a lunch break.

What can I say, you can eat really well at a great price. Super recommended!

Excellent choice... quality/price in a very characteristic environment

Piatti di stagione, sapientemente cucinati. Sono passata di sabato, e il posto ha offerto una formula menù di pochi piatti selezionati, a cui esclude il bere. Dai volantini in sala capisco che la domenica offrono un menù degustazione con prezzi diversi. Il servizio è cordiale ed efficiente, incorniciato da un'atmosfera che mi fa sentire a casa.

Menù che cambia ogni giorno con proposte gustose. Il servizio è particolarmente celere (forse troppo). Ci siamo seduti alle 13 e alle 13:05 era già arrivato un secondo. Il locale è un po’ freddo e l’organizzazione ricorda quella di una tavola calda per lavoratori. In ogni caso: due entrée, un primo, un secondo, un contorno, due dolci, due caffè ed un calice di bianco a €39!!
