A beautiful restaurant that's a must-see and experience when you're in Bologna. The owner is a great guy, and the food is perfect.
The space is a bit small, and they don't serve you very quickly. But it's definitely worth a try and a chat with the owner, who, I repeat, is a great, self-made guy, and you understand him when he speaks.

One of the most atmospheric and unique restaurants I’ve seen, with amazing food and drinks, and Emanuele, one of the warmest and most welcoming owners I’ve ever met! An incredible place and a true treasure of Bologna! Not to be missed

A small restaurant in the Santo Stefano neighborhood, very unique and characteristic, a good place but with a few caveats...
The place is very small, with tables all packed together and staff who struggle to get through. The menu is traditional, but no appetizers. For two, we ordered four first courses to try the most typical dishes: tortellini in broth, green lasagna, tortelli with squacquerone cheese and artichokes, and tagliatelle with ragù. Everything was good but, for my personal taste, a bit bland, with no standout flavors. The portions aren't very large, and the cheese for the pasta isn't left at the table, so we didn't have a chance to "flavor" it. For dessert, a mascarpone with chocolate chips and a slice of hazelnut and chocolate cake—these were truly delicious!
The service from the younger staff was a bit cold, while the owner seemed much more approachable, stopping a few times between the tables and even giving me a flower at the end of the evening, a kind and much appreciated gesture.
The bathroom is downstairs, where the radiators aren't on. It's very cold, and the bathroom door can't be locked.
The prices are really high for the type of cuisine offered; we paid a total of €105 for two people, plus two glasses of wine to accompany our dinner. In conclusion, we had a pleasant evening, but not one we'd return for a second time.

What can I say... Emanuele has always been a sure thing, both for the place that takes you back in time and for the excellent menu offerings.... private and convivial, elegant and informal.... Congratulations on everything, celebrating my birthday with you was the perfect choice, my friends complimented me on my choice.

Great food. Eccentric place but worth it. Been a few times. No menu so be ready to listen to the list of options. I will go back for sure.

Twice in two years. The joy of returning to a restaurant and everything is quite as brilliant as it was the last time. Delicious food, gorgeous wine and an atmosphere that only Italians can create. The owner and his staff, are as brilliant and eclectic as the art and wine. Do not miss this experience

The only thing that deserves 5 stars was the owner's kindness in seating us even though they weren't officially open yet, but beyond that, the tiny portions and high prices.
I was quite disappointed with the dessert: we ordered mascarpone for the modest sum of €10, and it was absolutely not worth it. The plating and texture really left much to be desired. The mascarpone was served runny and in a soup plate (runny, meaning not just mascarpone but also cream, without it) that was unsightly.
