Doppia Vela In Ortona

Excellent seafood restaurant. The waitresses are knowledgeable and friendly. It's a pleasant conversation with the owner. The food is excellent and the portions are generous. Excellent value. Highly recommended...remember to book several days in advance!

A small seafood restaurant in a beach resort. The fish was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, using a simple method to enhance rather than overwhelm the freshness of the fish—sea bream in our case. The chitarra alle vongole was cooked beautifully al dente. The dish was truly traditional and delicious, thanks to a very flavorful sauce, and I chose to accompany it with a pleasant local Cococciola. The staff, truly exquisitely courteous, had butter gnocchi made on the spot (I know, butter doesn't sound right!) for our little girl. Despite the price of the dish itself, they were very good. Even the fries, which I usually don't eat and only taste in passing, were quite good for the other kids. The waitresses, as already mentioned, were truly kind, extremely helpful, and knowledgeable. The manager was also truly friendly and courteous. For anyone passing through Ortona and enjoying fish and seafood, I highly recommend stopping by and enjoying a meal at Doppia Vela.

Restaurant overlooking the port of Ortona. Excellent hospitality, which is not a given these days. Excellent value, highly recommended for lunches/dinners with family, work, or friends.

We stopped by chance at the port of Ortona for a stroll, and from there, we discovered a whole new world! 🚴‍♀️🌊 We took a bike ride along the coast—despite the somewhat challenging route—and then stopped at the Doppia Vela restaurant ⛵️, right on the port, for a simple coffee. The very kind owner thought we wanted lunch, so we decided to make a reservation for 2:30 PM. We ate wonderfully: everything was delicious, well-organized, and the staff was courteous and helpful. But what struck us most was the attention to accessibility: perfectly accessible bathrooms, a comfortable ramp to enter, and enough space for a wheelchair user. We highly recommend it, both for the quality of the food and the great attention to detail they give to all their customers! 💙♿️🍝

We arrived at the peak of lunchtime and hadn't made a reservation. We had cycled from Valle Caterina, 25 km away, and looked quite sweaty from the heat. Nevertheless, the owner asked us to wait a bit and even offered us a free drink while we waited. After a short wait, we were assigned a table overlooking the harbor. We ate octopus with potatoes, fried calamari, and swordfish. All the dishes were beautifully prepared and tasted delicious. Although the restaurant was packed, the food came quickly and the staff was very professional.

Osteria di mare affacciata sul Porto di Ortona, accoglienza e attenzione al cliente con prosecco di benvenuto, servizio giovane , proprietario simpatico e attento al cliente, mette a proprio agio con un apprezzato fare familiare. Il menù ,esclusivamente di pesce, ê giornaliero, le materie prime di qualità, piatti che conquistano al primo assaggio. Atmosfera amichevole e allegra. Assolutamente da provare se si è in zona. Rapporto qualità - prezzo imbattibile sulla costa dei trabocchi. Obbligatoria prenotazione perché molto apprezzato. Complimenti a tutti… era la nostra seconda volta e torneremo presto.
