This evening too, we were more than satisfied. We tried the tasting menu. Impeccable. Dear Mr. Donato, you've truly created a restaurant that deserves stars, but not just the ones to vote for you; I'd give you the ones that make the difference among the best starred restaurants. Congratulations, and for the customers... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Location: 3/5 Elegant and welcoming, but located in a less than ideal area: a commercial area, not walkable, just off the ring road. The setting detracts from the overall experience. Menu: 4/5 Excellent quality meats, prepared with skill and care. The side dishes are also good, well executed and consistent with the menu. Service: 4/5 Attentive and precise, with well-managed timing. Discreet but effective, without being intrusive. Solid, professional service that complements the meal well. Bill: 3/5 Overall, the price is acceptable considering the quality of the offerings, but slightly high considering the location, which leaves something to be desired.

Exceptional experience. The place is meticulously maintained, the food delicious, and the price is fair. I really enjoyed the steak tartare with lime and croutons! 5-star service, kudos to Cassandra! The price was average. I'll gladly return :)

A refined and intimate restaurant. We opted for the €100 tasting menu for two, which included Hanami tartare, a platter of patanegra and cheeses, a 1kg Marchigiana steak, baked potatoes, dessert, and a bottle of Chianti. The entrée was good. The tartare was amazing, both the meat and the sauce. Excellent prosciutto and excellent cheeses. The meat was delicious and so tender you could cut it with a fork. The potatoes were good. My only concern (I really couldn't figure out what it meant) was that the dessert was a maritozzo with cream, which I think was vanilla or condensed milk cream. The maritozzo itself was good and soft, but cream doesn't usually have that much flavor. Overall, it wasn't a fitting end to a high-quality dinner. The only negative was the food. The service was attentive and courteous, except for a couple of oversights (we didn't bring the bread and hot plate; we had to ask for it). All in all, an excellent experience that's worth a try. Leave the hubby aside and you've hit the jackpot! Well done!

An unforgettable experience in Salerno Eating at Donato il Macellaio was, without a doubt, one of the best gastronomic experiences of my life. The meat I tasted was simply fantastic—flavorful, succulent, and prepared with a mastery that is hard to find. The pasta, traditional from Naples, brought all the essence of Italian cuisine, made with authenticity and passion. What makes it even more special is Donato himself, the owner, who served us personally. His hospitality, care, and friendliness transformed the dinner into something far beyond a meal: it was an encounter with the true soul of Neapolitan cuisine. I am sure I will never forget this night, and when I return to Salerno, I know exactly where I will have dinner: at Donato's.

I went to Donato il Macellaio last night with my dad and two friends, and we enjoyed the food. The service and atmosphere were wonderful. I'm writing this review, however, to warn anyone reading this not to park in the alley next to the restaurant. As soon as we left, we got back to the car and noticed that it had been broken into and everything inside had been stolen. A perfect evening, but a very bittersweet ending.
