Very well-maintained restaurant with high-quality, helpful, and attentive staff. The wait times were reasonable considering it was a weekend and the restaurant was busy. The quality ingredients were well-prepared.

I just went there for work. I ordered the €25 all-inclusive business menu, which included a choice of three appetizers and three main courses, water, and a cover charge. I chose this creamy potato soup with cured meats and lime. The flavor was very balanced, with the lime leading the way and a hint of acidity that made it enjoyable. For my main course, I opted for the sliced ​​beef, which I asked for the arugula to be omitted. The quality of the meat was really good, but I didn't like the choice to sear the cherry tomatoes, which somewhat altered the flavor and aroma of the dish. I'm not giving it my best rating because the prices are high anyway. The business menu can't be changed, and if you switch to other dishes, the price goes up. For "my" idea of ​​a butcher shop/restaurant, I wouldn't go back.

Marbled steaks that will make you cry, Florentine steaks with that marbling that seems designed, cuts of selected breeds cooked to perfection (never too much or too little). You can taste that the raw ingredients are chosen with obsessive care and that the kitchen knows exactly what they're doing. The flavor is deep, clean, authentic. Period. The staff, especially Donato himself, deserves a round of applause: kind, competent, and helpful without being intrusive. He explains the cuts with passion, offers advice without overdoing it, and makes you feel at home. It's rare to find a place where the owner is so present and so genuinely happy to see you happy after dining there. Last but not least: the wine list. Extensive, well-thought-out, with many interesting bottles at more than fair prices. Whether it's a serious red wine for aging or a simpler, more drinkable bottle, you'll always find the perfect pairing to enhance the meat. In short: If you love top-quality meat and the wine that pairs it, Donato il Macellaio isn't an option, it's a must. I recommend it without a doubt to all true enthusiasts.
