Una fantastica sorpresa culinaria. Abbiamo avuto la fortuna di scoprire questo ristorante una sera in cui eravamo solo noi, siamo stati accolti e trattati in maniera superlativa, vino e piatti ben spiegati, abbinamenti su alcuni piatti veramente spettacolari, non il solito Abruzzo.

Scoperta eccezionale nel centro di Popoli. Un localino sofisticato su Piazza della Libertà, ospita una rivisitazione attenta e gustosa dei prodotti del territorio (gamberi, trota e anguilla, assieme a carni e ortaggi) presentata con cura e eleganza. Ho apprezzato la melanzana alla griglia (stupefacente nella sua semplicità), la trota in due forme e un dessert (la ferratella) che più tradizionale non si potrebbe, ma invece mi ha piacevolmente stupito. Cantina del territorio, con etichette ricercate, e servizio da 10 e lode (e l'uscita dello chef a fine serata è un bel momento di confronto). Rapporto qualità/prezzo nella media di locali di questo livello. Tornerò sicuramente.

Well, where do you start? This was a recommendation by our host in Popoli. Don Evandro is a progressive, forward-thinking chef with what appears to be strong roots in the region and the ingredients it offers. From mushroom and onion consommés infused with local mountain herbs to local duck and an apparently local Popoli onion, Don Evandro's mastery of cuisine is excellent and puts him on track for an unbeatable legacy in the region. Don't overlook this restaurant; it's excellent, and I've never written that before. Seasonal, fresh, sophisticated, and down right clever. If that's not enough, the dining is simple, striped back with a modern flair. The staff are also exceptional, striking the right balance between attentive and elusive so as not to interfere with the moment, no matter who you're with. Don Evandro is the restaurant you don't expect, in a deserted Popoli at the end of July, dead from the heat we looked for a corner to recover and we couldn't end up in a better place. The place is perfect, small, intimate, very clean and quiet. Minimalist, with really beautiful designer chairs with a wooden frame. The menu had few dishes and to be honest there seemed to be almost nothing to our liking (the chef only uses exclusively local and seasonal products) we chose a bit at random and were surprised by both the presentation and the very high quality, freshness and imagination in the choice of ingredient combinations. A very well managed place where the staff is perhaps the jewel in the crown. Their kindness and great professionalism are what anyone would like to encounter every day. I will return every time I find myself passing through your area. Thank you so much.

We had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant. Make sure to book in advance as they only have a few tables inside. The location itself is very tastefully made and you can see how much love they put into details. They can adjust dishes to match gluten-free / senza glutine requirements - which was great! We noted that already during reservation. The food itself was very good! We recommend to go there when you are in the region and want to have a special and exquisite local food experience with rare combos that taste great!

A place with just a few seats in an elegant space that allows you to be pampered right from the start of what was a FANTASTIC dinner!
The tasting menu is highly recommended: 6 courses ranging in quantity of flavours, stories, colours, aromas and textures that left me speechless.
Great attention to the territory and tradition in the à la carte menu.
Possibility to range between wines from all regions such as those at km 0.
In short, a dinner where all SIX senses smiled!
I hope to return very soon!
