First negative experience, I asked for a first course without tomato, the rude waiter told me to read the list of allergens but tomato wasn't among them, I took a plate of fish au gratin with too much breadcrumbs on it, the pasta with salmon had 'It was more cream than salmon

First time and not the last!
I'm from Ferrara and so to speak "for a long time" and I had never eaten there!
Ate fish, good, beautiful and spent the right amount.
Freshly refitted location, pleasant and refined.
Service up to par.
Excellent raw material.
You can park nearby almost without fail.
Now we have to try land food...

Ideal restaurant for lunch with a fixed menu. I like it because not only do you eat well but they are very attentive to the service they offer. They manage to manage many people at the same time and I can get back to work quickly without going to some unpleasant fast food restaurant in the surrounding areas. The perfect lunch break. if you are in a group or alone it is always better to book in advance.

For various reasons it had been a long time since I went to Don Abbondio.
I was with my son, and I must confirm the high quality of the products and the mastery in knowing how to work them on the part of Chef Patron Max.
In the room there were two attentive and well-prepared people, the likes of which you rarely see around. BRAVI BRAVI and more BRAVI. As soon as time allows me I will be with you to try all the specialties!!

Secondo me l'unica pecca di questo locale e' la posizione: a margine della zona industriale di Ferrara, in una traversa della arteria principale (quindi invisibile se non si sa dov'e') e al piano terra di una anonima palazzina anni '60. Tutto, ma proprio tutto il resto molto bene: menu' di pesce o carne anche con piatti insoliti per Ferrara, pizza molto apprezzata, arredamento sobrio e senza pacchianerie, servizio veloce e sorridente garantito, credo, dai titolari, ampia scelta di vini, cani bene accolti e prezzi non proprio stracciati, ma adeguati alla qualita' di quello che arriva sulla tavola.
Noi abbiamo scelto due antipasti freddi di pesce, niente primo, polpo in padella e spiedini di calamari e cappesante di secondo, due sorbetti mandarino e zenzero per finire, il tutto accompagnato da unabottiglia di Ribolla Gialla servita ben fredda come dev'essere: con tutto cio' siamo arrivati a 105 euro. Aggiungo che prima degli antipasti arriva sempre un "saluto dalla cucina" che nel nostro caso era rappresentato da frittelle di bianchetti (pesciolini piccolissimi) . Tutto, dai bianchetti al sorbetto, molto valido, ma per me il top e' stato il polpo, che so non essere facilissimo da cucinare e di certo e' estraneo alla tradizione ferrarese: morbidissimo, saporito, circondato da abbondanti erbette e (ma non serviva proprio) cubetti di formaggio.
