11/05/2025: On a Thursday evening in early May, alone in the restaurant in the early evening (7:30 p.m.), we received the warmest of welcomes and appreciated the quality of the wood-fired pizzas and white wine.
Excellent value for money.
43 euros: 1 glass of white wine, 1 limoncello spritz, 2 bottles of water, 2 pizzas, 2 lemon sorbets.
We will definitely return before the end of our stay to try the local dishes...
We returned the following 3 evenings. We tasted the beef fillet on a bed of arugula and Grana cheese shavings, the shrimp risotto, the spaghetti with mussels, the spaghetti alla vongole, the broad bean soup, the cheese and local charcuterie appetizers, the eggplant parmigiana, the local red wine, the grappa from the barrel, and the white wine. Go there with your eyes closed! Unbeatable value for money! A wonderful welcome! I highly recommend it!
01/05/2025: Absolutely try "Il Gattopardo"! Despite the proximity to the Donnafugata Castle, which sometimes makes one fear purely tourist cuisine, this restaurant pleasantly surprised me with the quality of its dishes. Special praise goes to their crust soup, a real delight that I highly recommend. The rustic appetizer is also excellent, rich in typical cured meats and cheeses that tell the story of the territory. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs, helping to create a welcoming atmosphere. The final bill was honest, except perhaps for the craft beers which I found a little expensive. Overall, the experience was very satisfying. I will happily return and highly recommend it to anyone who is in the area and wants to enjoy authentic and tasty cuisine. A great find!
