Dolce & Tabacco In Palermo

04/04/2026: I was surprised by this place. Among the tourist crowds of Palermo's central streets, this restaurant has plenty of tables both inside and outside, so in most cases you don't need reservations. The cuisine is popular, as their sign says. I was amazed by the fact that this restaurant has been around since 1834 and yet isn't crowded with tourists like the rest of the city. But what's the demand here? Typical food at a low price, for example. I had typical Sicilian baked anelletti and a buttered arancina. The anelletti were really good, a generous portion, and it was essential to save on toppings. The arancina was one of the cheapest but also one of the best in the city. I highly recommend it. In total, I paid €6 for the anelletti, and considering the portion they gave you and the quality of the ingredients, I'd say it's truly a good value. Then for the arancina, it was only €2.80, which, considering the prices in Palermo these days, is truly affordable. The arancini were full of cheese and ham, and the breading wasn't greasy. I'm really happy I ate here; I'll definitely be back.
