The restaurant is one of the best I have ever tried. Top quality ingredients, handmade stuffed pasta made by them ad hoc, everything tasty but not heavy, house wine really special. The service is first class and the kindness and friendliness of the owner is really something worth going for. What can I say, a restaurant that has a lot to teach many restaurants with inflated prices. After all, catering is not invented... you learn over many years of experience, and they have this too. A trattoria with typical Ligurian cuisine in a historic, century-old place in Ognio, on the hills of ValFontana Buona, a family welcome from the owner Pippo, friendly and affable, with his staff of young, well-prepared people, is worth a visit and then definitely return. A spectacular view of the valley, to enjoy tasty dishes and ancient recipes, such as appetizers with cured meats and vegetable pies and other delights, handmade first courses, ravioli with ragù and pansoti with walnut sauce, to continue with tagliolini with porcini mushrooms and lasagnette or trofie with pesto, a dream. The second courses have the house specialty, an Italian-style mixed fry so rich that it satisfies 2 people. Meat lovers can appreciate a Piedmontese Fassona steak, roast beef with herbs, veal with tuna sauce, Ligurian rabbit with olives, battered cod with panissette, fried focaccia filled with cheese, fried porcini mushrooms, and more. Desserts are the classic spoon desserts such as tiramisu, the delicious grandma's pudding with chocolate sauce, panna cotta, the classic tart with homemade fruit compote. Cellar with a wide selection of selected wines, and house wines. Abundant dishes and good prices! The whole company satisfied!

Stunning place in a cozy village in the mountains of Italy!
We stayed at Frattoria del Pippo and it was a truly wonderful experience. A cozy village located in the mountains, about 40 minutes from Portofino - a quiet, picturesque and very soulful place.
We arrived late in the evening, around 23:00, and Luca, the owner, greeted us with a warm smile. He kindly helped lift things upstairs and asked if we needed anything. The atmosphere was as cozy and caring as possible.
The rooms are clean, with separate rooms - ideal for a couple with a friend. There was silence at night, no one disturbed. And in the morning we woke up to the singing of birds and the soft ringing of bells - a feeling of a real Italian morning.
Luca fed us a delicious breakfast and everything was very homely. The house has absolutely everything you might need - even an iron!
We were completely satisfied with this place and would happily return. Many thanks to Luka for your hospitality! We recommend it to everyone who is looking for a holiday in tranquility and with soul.
