A gourmet cuoppo (€10) with any type of fried food inside for me and a fish & chips (€9) for my girlfriend. Good and tasty! Chaotic environment typical of the street we are in!

We tried the seafood cuoppo and the fried mozzarella for our baby. I'm not an expert on cuoppo, but for me the fried seafood was exceptional, very good, not at all greasy, very digestible and also a generous quantity. Ideal for lunch in Spaccanapoli.

On the way to the famous "il cuppo" I decided to test this place... it looked really good, nice location, nice service, Aperol for 2e, generally reasonable prices... but unfortunately the cuppo misto di mare was too salty...

We took two cups; one from land and the other from sea + fried pasta. The fried pasta was really bad, I really didn't like it, so much so that I couldn't continue beyond the second bite. The earthen cuoppo, however, wasn't bad. Except for the arancina, which we'll leave alone... But here, being Sicilian, I feel like I'm biased. The fish cuoppo, however, was a little too greasy, but all in all good. For a quick lunch, as usual, and if you want to save money, it's not bad. However, I preferred other venues.

Cuoppo per pranzo buono, abbondante anche se un po' salato nella versione cuoppo di mare. Abbiamo mangiato all' interno dato che pioveva. Appena i tavoli si sono liberati, abbiamo occupato gli sgabelloni ma il tavolo era molto sporco e non ci è stato offerto l' occorrente per pulirli, così come abbiamo dovuto chiedere noi i tovaglioli.

Cuoppo for lunch is good, plentiful even if a little salty in the seafood version. We ate inside as it was raining. As soon as the tables became free, we occupied the stools but the table was very dirty and we were not offered anything needed to clean them, just as we had to ask for napkins ourselves.

Cuoppi di fritture di terra o di mare egualmente eccellenti. La lunga attesa è stata ricompensata. Peccato che i tavolini all'esterno del locale siano insufficienti. Mangiare in piedi non è gradevole.

Caruso Roof Garden Restaurant

30/07/2024: Every July 29th, my wife and I celebrate our wedding anniversary at the Caruso restaurant of the Grand Hotel Vesuvio, a place that has become an unmissable tradition for us. Describing the location is difficult except through photos which capture the magic of this wonderful place, directly overlooking the Castel dell'Ovo, one of the most fascinating places in Naples. The view is simply breathtaking and helps make the experience even more special. The location is modern, warm and elegantly furnished. However, what made this dinner truly special was the menu created by the new starred chef, who collaborates with the restaurant's historic chef. The dishes, already excellent, were further improved, and each course was able to surprise us with refined flavors and new combinations. We started the evening with a Franciacorta aperitif, followed by a Cervaro della Sala Chardonnay wine. As appetizers, we enjoyed a raw prawn, squid and potato dish, and a revisited Caprese salad. The lemon and sea urchin gnocchi were a sublime first course, while the crusted sea bream for two was the perfect choice for the second course. Between one course and another, the chef delighted us with small culinary surprises that added a touch of magic to the evening. Particular praise goes to the impeccable service of Salvatore and all his staff. They were attentive to our every need, ensuring our glass was never empty and the table was always clean. The timing in serving the dishes was perfect, allowing us to enjoy each course without rushing. Overall, it was a wonderful experience that I will certainly continue to repeat over the years with my wife. The surrounding environment and the other customers also contributed to creating a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere, completing an unforgettable evening.
