Debora and Fiamma of Gianicolo Roma In Roma

We got there on foot and there was a beautiful view of Rome from here. Moreover, there were not many people there and you could enjoy the views in peace and take pictures of everything...very nice if you are coming from the center of Rome.

One of the best viewpoints in Rome. From the top, you can see the entire city: domes, rooftops, monuments, and especially St. Peter's Basilica standing out on the horizon. The atmosphere is peaceful compared to other tourist areas, and the sunset here is incredible. A visit to the Fontana dell'Acqua Paola before or after your climb is highly recommended. Perfect for panoramic photos and for relaxing for a while away from the chaos of the city center.

A wonderful place! One of the good things about the various Urban Plans.

When we were there, it was moderately busy. It seems this place isn't as overrun as many other places in Rome. A very beautiful view!

A beautiful viewpoint overlooking all of Rome, and most importantly, without the crowds. The Terrazza del Gianicolo, according to many, offers the most magnificent view of the Eternal City. The terrace is located atop Gianicolo Hill, beyond Trastevere and south of the Vatican. From the Gianiculum (Italian: Gianicolo), you can see the Pantheon, Piazza Venezia, and the Capitoline Hill, among other sights. On the hill itself, in the center of Piazza Garibaldi, stands an equestrian statue of Giuseppe Garibaldi. The Italian politician and revolutionary, considered the father of Italian unification. I highly recommend it.

Pretty good view of part of the city of Roma. Bathrooms are not free. Vendors on the hill are overpriced. About a 22 min hike from St Peter's Basilica.

Cover your ears well, and be careful of the smoke from the explosion which can bother children.
