Darmagi In Mercenasco

Darmagi is a little bit of a hidden gem. We have been twice now, in November 2024 with a white truffle option and in May 2025. The interiors aren’t on the pulse of modern trends, perhaps a little bit stuck in a nostalgic dream but that’s ok. It has a homely interior like my grandmother’s house. With one of the best and most affordable wine lists in the area, great Barolos from the last two decades there is something for serious winos to dive into the list. Absolutely delicious tajarin and an impressive selection of local cheeses paired with vermouth (not pictured). We have only eaten inside but they also have a generous covered terrace. Looking forward to visiting again in the future

We were disappointed with the quality of the food. The marinated salmon was actually smoked salmon and not very relevant, in my opinion, given the restaurateur's choice to offer a typically Piedmontese menu. The cheese plate was monotonous (there were 5 varieties all very, too, similar. There was no appreciable contrast). I expected more from a restaurant featured in the Michelin guide.

Hospitality that literally makes you sit at home, exquisite manners, excellent service, cuisine with perfectly recognizable flavors and tastes. Very interesting wines and tasting menu calibrated to allow a tangible journey. Compliments

Capitati per caso per una domenica per un evento al castello Benso,piacevole scoperta all'interno di una villetta immersa nel verde sale accoglienti,intime e poco rumorose con tanto di camino ....piatti curati, originali personale gentile e disponibile ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo ...unica osservazione servizio un po 'lento ma ci sta Domenica locale pieno ...quindi alla fine va bene. Ci tornerò

Sunday lunch, I must say that I expected more.... shame!

il desiderio di mia moglie era di poter rivivere quella magia che avevamo trovato qualche anno fa, immergendosi in un luogo fatato,ricco di belle decorazioni che ci aveva trasportato nella magia del Natale. Appena entrati abbiamo notato che qualcosa era cambiato, l’eleganza della mise en place continua ad essere presente anche se con qualche mancanza: un bicchiere sporco di rossetto e un tovagliolo bucato… Prontamente sostituiti!. Abbiamo ordinato i tajarin al ragù e le lasagne. I tajarin risultavano molto umidi con un sapore molto deciso che non ci ha soddisfatto. Le lasagne erano strepitose, peccato che la porzione rasentasse l’assaggio. Come secondi abbiamo preso il coniglio che è risultato poco cotto e la guancia eccessivamente sapida con la riduzione che copriva il gusto della carne. Era un riferimento, adesso le porzioni si sono ridotte decisamente e i prezzi sono aumentati… Peccato

Had lunch for the first time today with friends. I can only give the maximum score, both for the cuisine and for the service and of course also for the very well-kept and original place. Very nice private rooms. I tried typical Piedmontese cuisine with really well cooked mixed fried food.
