Dall'Antiquario In Lecce

Going to visit a friend in Lecce, he took me to this restaurant. I don't know whether to call it a trattoria or something else. However, the welcome was certainly nothing to complain about. Mr. Sabino welcomed us with great empathy and joy. Let's start with the location: a little dated, small, and a lot of old junk thrown here and there, which honestly I don't know how long it can please people. I mean, there are some objects, but thrown here and there, and that's another thing. Let's move on to the food: at least for my taste, nothing that could have warmed my heart. The portions of some dishes were a little meager, but not meager in price. In fact, for the cost of some dishes, I would have expected something more generous. My final opinion: if this place has won 4 restaurants, I imagine that after the victory, it got a big head and lowered its quality... I don't want to say that the quality was poor... But certainly, as I reiterated, it didn't leave an impression on me. I paid for 5 appetizers, 3 first courses, and 3 second courses with 3; bottles of water €210 ... I would have expected at least at the end, WOULD YOU LIKE A COFFEE? And I repeat, this is my opinion, maybe someone else will like all this...

This place is a little different. It's not your average trattoria. It feels like stepping back into the '70s... The food is good. Lecce cuisine without frills or presentation. High-quality ingredients and carefully prepared dishes. The owner? A real character worth getting to know!

This place is one of the best in the entire city; the owner is a delight and the soul of Antiquario. I can't say enough about how delicious the dishes are: the meatballs and cavatelli with octopus are highly recommended.

Oddly, you feel like in some other place outside the city. Quirky, but personal, smooth service, great food, maybe top 5 in Lecce. It's a good tradition to have.

We were visiting Lecce and chose this place, renowned for the flavors of Salento and their legendary meatballs...and its fame does it justice!!! The atmosphere is familiar and the decor is unique: we loved it! The owner's welcome was very convivial; we chatted and he recommended their dishes. We ate cavatelli with cannellini beans and mussels, orecchiette with stew, stewed veal chops, and meatballs in tomato sauce...everything was delicious! We fully savored Puglia! The owner also offered us an entrée of meatballs (the potato, mint, and cheese ones are phenomenal) and a amaro...all top notch!

We ate typical Salento fare. Simple yet flavorful dishes, just what we were looking for on this holiday. The fava beans and chicory were memorable!
