Da Tuccio In Avigliano

Clean, comfortable neighborhood. The friendly and welcoming Carmelina advised us on the dishes... all excellent courses, from appetizers to main courses, delicious with cod.

We arrived by chance, looking for a simple place with local cuisine. The chef/owner served us local dishes. They were exceptionally prepared, and the simplicity made us feel right at home. Excellent value. Almond desserts and homemade liqueurs... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Cod reigns supreme, served in every imaginable way. The atmosphere is focused on food rather than 80s-style context. Service is fast, and the food is typical of the area.

Recommended by a guest at the same B&B where we stayed. Excellent food, fairly quick service, and a really reasonable bill! €30 for two first courses, two second courses, and a quarter of wine. The only downside, perhaps, is that they don't have a menu, but they explain everything to you.

Staff I've known for generations but have been away for many years due to work and distance. Today, for my daughter's birthday, I brought them. They were kind, courteous, excellent prices, and the dishes were fabulous, as tradition dictates. The tripe with red onions was the best, the strascinati with turnip tops, cod, and crusco peppers were out of this world. The cod and chicken First Stock was divine. The wine and local limoncello were excellent. It's a shame about the grappa, someone changed their minds. That's fine. The parents up there, who knew dear Tuccio in particular, can be satisfied that they left their nets in the hands of good guys. See you next time.

This historic restaurant in Avigliano never disappoints, I had been missing it for many years but whoever decided to celebrate there made an excellent choice, I will return soon.
