In an area like Borgo Pio, often crowded with touristy eateries with pushy staff, this trattoria is a pleasant and authentic exception. Frequented by Romans, prelates, and even Popes over time, it preserves the authentic flavor of Roman cuisine.
The carbonara and gricia are truly excellent, prepared with care and quality ingredients. The platter is also tasty, although it could be a bit more generous. The service is friendly and attentive, and the relaxed atmosphere makes the experience even more enjoyable.
We recommend arriving just before opening time to avoid long waits: seats fill up quickly. The prices are fair, especially considering the area. A must-see for anyone seeking a true taste of Rome.

A classic Roman trattoria just steps from the Vatican. A must-visit on any trip to Rome for many years.
The house specialty: rigatoni alla norcina is a must. The main courses and vegetable side dishes are also excellent.
A special mention: water is still served in 1L bottles, not the increasingly common 750ml ones.

Un ristorante veramente eccellente. Sono di Livorno ed ero a Roma per un convegno ecclesiale. Già in passato ero stato e sono tornato, un giorno con amici ed il giorno seguente da solo.
Ottima la location, ottimo il menù con vari piatti della tradizione romana.
Soprattutto meraviglioso il clima per la professionalità ed accoglienza del personale. Veloci, sorridenti e pronti alla battuta.
Un luogo dove, oltre a mangiare, ti rilassi come se tu fossi a casa.

Ottima cena in questo tipico ristorante romano. L’abbacchio è veramente molto buono così come descritto in altre recensioni. Il cameriere sa fare il suo mestiere con professionalità e simpatia. Complimenti perché in una zona battuta da così tanti turisti, non è sempre facile
