Came in starving and the pasta alla Norcina gave me new life. Every one of my friends who visited Italy recommended this place and it lived up to its reputation. Low key and quiet, kind service, good wine, a nice retreat from the bustling Vatican.

If you're looking for a truly delicious meal away from the hustle and bustle of Rome's tourists, near the Vatican, head to Al Passetto di Borgo. Here, you won't find terraces with garish umbrellas, staff who pull you in and then stand irritably at your table, and certainly no factory-made food. Valerio was happy to see us, had a pleasant chat, and recommended the best homemade dishes. The authenticity of the restaurant made our lunch complete!

Mi sono fermato a pranzo casualmente e ho avuto silubito un'ottima impressione. Confermata poi a fine pasto. Cordialità e professionalità nel servizio ed ottimo cibo.

Fuera a cenar. Buena comida, a un precio razonable. El camarero era muy amable, que era una ventaja. Pedí un Amaro y me sugirió algunos buenos. Un gran bono.

16/03/2026: It is a pleasent surprise to eat that well so close to one of the most turistic spots in the world - the restaurant is only a couple of minutes walking from Saint Peter's basilica. Slightly upscale restaurant vibes, but the food does not really match the intention. It is very good cuisine, and the service is excellent, but it feels pricey for what it is worth.
14/03/2026: An incredibly pleasant and warm atmosphere. The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. We came twice in 4 days and were very satisfied. A must for every Rome holiday.

10/03/2026: This was my first time at this cozy rooftop restaurant, where I had booked three days in advance. The waitress, very professional yet friendly, accompanied us to our table and poured us water while we chose from the menu. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. We had delicious salmon confit, tuna tataki with soy vegetables, and amberjack on buffalo mozzarella cream. The location is elegant, with a small, but well-kept and welcoming terrace. It's very close to the Opera House.
09/03/2026: Edit: went back and had carbonara and steak tagliata also, both delicious. Both lean salty, carbonara can't be helped but you could ask for less Maldon salt on the steak if you prefer (was fine for me as is, just FYI) It's a busy restaurant - booking is a good idea Was full when I went, staff offered me to dine at the bar and then moved me to a table once available. Had the pesto pasta and amberjack, both tasty, though I would rate the pasta higher. Fish was a touch over cooked for my liking Staff spoke English very well. Decor and atmosphere are delightful
