I had to change my mind. It hadn't impressed me in the winter, but I returned recently and found a truly delicious carbonara and tripe that was worth the return trip. Impeccable table service, new and clean place. I'd say the only flaw was the bill, which was slightly higher than I expected, but I repeat, the tripe, especially, is definitely worth it. Tender and flavorful.

This was absolutely delicious! Our group was blown away by the hospitality and the quality of the meal! If you are looking for something authentic, this is your spot! We knew very little Italian and they made us feel comfortable and right at home!

10 different vegetable dishes…not mixed in the Contorni section but in its own Vedure section? Welcome to Da Oio! After two weeks of roughly the same menu for dinner each night, we were rescued by Da Oio. We love our meats as well, and did them right with oxtail and tripe…mix that with escarole and chicory and cabbage/potato along with an eggplant parm special (gnocchi was sold out) and we were giddy with delight. Agree the place is unpretentious…more of a neighborhood joint…loved the charm/surliness of the waiter. Really enjoyed the meal so if you are in Rome and realize what we did about the repetitive menus…then head a bit out of the tourist Mecca to Testaccio and prepare to enjoy yourselves!

This was very near our rental when visiting Rome. It seems to be a popular neighborhood family restaurant. We ate outside, were well taken care of by our waiter (despite us not speaking Italian and him not speaking English), and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The chicken cacciatore was really tasty!

The location and the street-facing veranda aren't its strong points, but the rest is, with the exception of the wine cellar, but maybe we just had a bad moment! There were four of us, and all the dishes were very good, especially the starters. The wine cellar had more than a few holes. In the end, the waiter chose the wine for us, but it was similar to the ones we wanted that weren't available, and the price was in line.

Ristorante caratteristico, dove senti la vecchia Roma! Personale sempre gentile e disponibile! Tutto buonissimo dall’ antipasto al dolce! Buonissimi i nervetti come la lingua, carbonara top. Trippa, pollo al forno, abbacchio e coda alla vaccinara ricordano i sapori della cucina trafficata nella tradizione romanesca, così anche come i carciofi! Unica piccola nota è stato per le puntatelle a mio gusto tagliate troppo o doppie! Prezzi più che onesti.

25/07/2025: I'm not sure what happened but our table and the one next to us had very slow and laid back service. It took over 35 minutes for two cold antipasti to come out, our wine was opened and the foil fell into the bottle so I had metal in my glass (they didn't replace bottle just new glass, told me it was a fly). The food was just okay, felt underwhelming. Cacio and pepe was over salted and couldn't taste anything but salt. Clams on my crostini were very sandy. Service was odd, I heard the table behind us get mad at slow service and their food being cold, we also had same experience. But another table nearby got offered seat cushions and were attended to every 3-5 seconds. Peculiar. We had much better food at restaurants in the Michelin guide for less money in the same neighborhood, I'd skip this place (seems they don't want tourists dining here anymore). Arguably our least favorite restaurant of our honeymoon in Italy.
15/07/2025: Delicious seafood pasta dishes. The seafood toast was also delicious. Everything was fresh and tasty. We sat outside, with a great atmosphere and very friendly service. The owners are always on hand to make sure everything is perfect. They have a wide variety of dishes and wines, too. Good location near the river and on a quiet corner.
