Da Nonna Pina In Malcesine

The food (we had pasta) was okay, but not a masterpiece. The wine was also okay, but very dry (house rosé). The staff was a bit grumpy, and considering that we had to wait almost half an hour for dessert (during which time the waiters were standing around outside, and our waiter even noticed us sitting and waiting at the empty table several times), I was only going to give it two stars, but the panna cotta won me over and snatched three more. However, we only got dessert after asking again, and then after two minutes.

This was our second time dining here. Excellent regional food, great service, and excellent value for money. A great little restaurant. We'd love to come back.

Trattoria della Nonna Pia offers delicious and generous cuisine, with excellent value for money. We had a great time! A little more smile in the service would have made the experience absolutely perfect, but it's still a place I happily recommend.

Really authentic place, not noisy and a perfect place for a lunch. The food was amazing. Also, waiters were really friendly! Recommend❤️

Pasta with wild boar was sensational, but the lasagne was very bland and unseasoned… What a pity

We returned today for lunch after a couple of years: once again, the food was delicious, the welcome was warm, and the service was professional and courteous—in fact, downright friendly. Definitely recommended. Just one request: could you put pasta with sardines back on the menu? See you on your next trip to Malcesine.

Despite somewhat mixed reviews, we decided to try Trattoria Nonna Pina, on a recent stay in Malcesine. In terms of atmosphere/ambience, I didn't feel any warmth of welcome, or indeed made to feel particularly comfortable whilst we were there. Staff were not overly friendly or attentive. Food was OK, but nothing special as such. Menu is fairly limited so do look beforehand to ensure there is something for you. I went for lasagne, safe option, but I've certainly had better, whereas I hoped in Italy this would be the best. Prices are typical for the town, so value for money was OK. Sadly, this wouldn't be my first place to return. I must admit I felt disappointed after our meal and wished we had chosen one of the other numerous eateries in the town.
