Da Monsù Mario - Osteria In Moncalvo

Arriving in Moncalvo at lunchtime, from the square where we parked the car, fifty meters away we found ourselves in front of this restaurant: a spectacular surprise! Even though we hadn't booked, they made us sit: tagliolini with porcini mushrooms and a sublime risotto with Castelmagno fondue were some of the dishes that we enjoyed, all accompanied by a superb Rouchet red wine! Last but not least, an amaretto and apricot cake, but what distinguishes everything described is the friendliness of Mrs. Susanna, expert in Barbera wine and of Susy's unsurpassed chef and husband, the legendary Mario!!! I highly recommend it if you come to Moncalvo, not only for the excellent and genuine lunch, but for the truly enormous welcome of the owners!!! 10 and praise!!!

Il locale seminterrato, molto gradevole. Cucina del territorio di buona qualità e ben curata. Servizio cordiale ed amichevole gestito dalla signora, moglie dello chef. Ottima cantina a vista. Prezzo giusto sui 50 euro due piatti + dessert, escluso vini.

Il locale è molto curato, la sala da pranzo presenta una bellissima volta e il personale è stato molto gentile. I piatti sono quelli tipici della cucina piemontese, tutti davvero ben cucinati. Prezzi assolutamente onesti.

Excellent place to have lunch in the Langhe with friends. The cuisine and service are excellent. I recommend doing the tasting menu, which proved to be varied and of excellent quality.

A place discovered at the last moment, but guys... some space stuff! At 2pm on Sunday, with all the communions, they managed to find a table for two people. They warned us that the wait was longer than normal, but very understandable. We ordered 3 appetizers, 2 first courses, 2 desserts, a coffee, a water and a bottle of Barolo. Very honest prices, excellent and exceptional service, like the welcome, the environment and the entire staff! Highly recommended! Definitely worth a stop! P.s. I would like to suggest the very famous vitello tonnato and the tajarin with seasonal vegetables. SUPERB😍

The veal with tuna sauce is excellent

Typical trattoria, on the corner of a square used as a car park. Normal prices, quality local cuisine and correct portions. It's worth ending the meal with a cream ice cream sprinkled with Barbera Chinata, a real specialty!

I would recommend it to anyone in the area! Excellent food of excellent quality, from starters to dessert. The hazelnut cake was a surprise that I won't tell you, I didn't think a hazelnut cake could be so good! The wine list does not disappoint: many DOCG products from the area from local wineries. The service was excellent, without long waits. But above all the staff was very welcoming and approachable. Mrs. Susanna is very nice! I also appreciated the location: elegant and old-fashioned in the right way.
